Living once again in a manor reminds her too much of home; now and again she expects to turn the corner and be berated by her father, scorned by her mother, and it’s made her restless. This is just such a morning, where the need to roam, the pull to escape, has grown too strong to ignore and she finds herself prowling the grounds, savoring the freshness of open air from which she’d been apart for so long.

A mechanical whir from overhead catches her attention, and she watches for a moment as Alana practices her maneuvers, watches until the suit smacks against a tree. A snort of disdain curls her lip as she strolls over to look down on the prone suit, brow raised. “And what, pray tell, do you call that trick?”

Of all the gods of the pantheon, Aides is the most tolerable. Medousa has, after all, sent her gifts nearly all her life, a solemn correspondence between Death and Monster that has gone on for century after century. It’s of little surprise that she has joined the New Gods in their campaign; after all, Death wins every battle, and are they not now on the winning team? 

“Aides,” she greets, voice like gravel, like the raw timbre of a woman who has spent the last few decades screaming out her rage in protests and women’s marches, the harsh growl of a Monster made and not born. “Media said you’d be arriving this evening.” A baggie, pungent and full of green flower, is tossed across the table in the towering figure’s direction to the accompaniment of a ragged grin. “Consider it a welcome gift between old friends.”

Bellatrix, in her many years on this earth, has been no stranger to pain or sickness, blood or pus, but the fresh and seeping wound at her side has reached a level for which she could not possibly have been prepared. It feels final, the last nail in a long awaited coffin for which she is not yet ready. She is unsure where she has apparated to, what flickering streetlights she now stumbles beneath like a drunkard through the night, but she presses on, feverish delirium and desperation clouding her judgement as she searches for a house with a light on in the window. Any house, anyone, any pedigree. Bellatrix Black is not ready to die, even if that means the death of her pride.

Woozy, her vision spots and blurs, threatens to evade her altogether, and she grits her teeth, jaw clenching hard enough to ache as she pulls herself once more from the brink. She’s running out of time. A light, there in the distance, catches her dark gaze and a grim hope blooms like a metaphor in her burning chest. By the time she reaches the front step, she’s on the verge of collapse, and her knock is weak and soft as her knees buckle from the last ditch effort of getting to this very spot. Through the swimming in her eyes, she sees the ground rise up to meet her.

Seven Deadly Sinday

Since sinday is a thing, how about we acknowledge how many other ‘sins’ are out there since some aren’t comfortable with nsfw and also just for fun? Lust is excluded mostly because there’s so much of that already.

Gluttony

“Are you going to eat that whole pizza by yourself?”

“Maybe you should try sharing some of that?”

“You’ve been a bit excessive about this whole thing, haven’t you?”

“I ate my feelings. With a whole cake.”

“Yes, I bought a few bottles of wine. So what?”

Greed
