People refusing to enjoy the tension between Suvi’s different worlds is always baffling to me. You can like the moment where Sworn’s complete honesty about why exactly he chooses one cause and marches towards it, appreciate that someone’s making both a rational, but more importantly, emotional argument to the Witch of the Worlds Heart that stuns her. “My mentor died before I got my namecloak” is such a rocking statement.

But we can also appreciate the pure devotion and respect Silver has for Sky when he pulls Ame aside, even if you personally find it off-putting! Feeling the distaste in Ame when she doesn’t remark on the fact that Silver references her true friend as the person she “serves” versus Ame’s retort to Sworn that loves the reason they would follow Suvi, not “the respect she commands”. Also Silver being able to help Suvi relax and SLEEP? King behavior, keep our icon well rested!

This story is too interesting to be mean about it!

Truly crazy to watch people pop off on Silver and Sworn for having Suvi’s back and letting Ame know that despite her intentions, her actions were out of place and unhelpful.

Silver and Sworn, the ones that were *actually* by her side when she was on her way to the horses to make sure no one starved, because Eursulon outright refused to help (and spoke of not wanting to be there at all) and Ame was bopping from fraught conversation to fraught conversation.

Silver, the one who understood that what Suvi actually needed when they were finally alone was to put down the devastating burden of trying to keep three dozen people alive behind enemy lines for a night and rest.

Sworn, the one that volunteered to handle the horse problem since he saw how much it gutted her to resort to it.

Feel however you want to feel about their phrasing or tone, but neither was wrong for taking Ame to the side and speaking with her on points Suvi’s also made to her in the past. It is neither empathetic nor community-serving to repeatedly refuse to adapt to a different culture’s way of doing things.

Truth is, Sworn and Silver are the ones being a good friend to Suvi right now, and if you can’t see that it’s because your Citadel-blinders make you instantly dismissive of anything Suvi wants or needs that diverges from Ame and Eursulon’s preferences. And that sucks to see. Again.

@quiddie has superior Sport knowledge and therefore I will not say she’s wrong. But for my murder-wife’s dignity, I offer the smallest defense for Gramore:

1. Her domain’s the literal concept of a hunt, that involves a huge amount of strategy and team effort. Animals naturally fall into supportive and lead roles in hunts (and defensive or offensive roles for the animals being hunted). That’s a Game!

2. Has! Self! Control! Gramore rocked up to the coven wanting to kill Ame but she didn’t rip her into two the second she saw her! Is she crazy? Ofc. But she is a thinking, cognizant being! She can plan! She can scheme! She can wait to make a move!

3. “Not a team player” Ms. Blood and Nudity’s first appearance was her helping her Grandma walk in. She was making alliances (and being outplayed but shh) with Indri. She has a partner, she has a KID, she has a pack. She has relationships and is able to maintain them.

@quiddie I feel like y'all really slept on Gramore when you were choosing the 5th man for your basketball team. She might not be much of a team player, but she will literally eviscerate your opponents the moment they start running.

one thing i keep coming back to is the fight scene in the council room from s208 because it just tells us SO much about viktor. when he enters the room in his avatar he catwalks in. he moves with so much elegance and so much confidence. the way he pins jayce by the wrist and then slowly wraps his fingers around jayce’s hammer. the way he wraps his legs around jayce and cups his face and brushes his fingers over his lips. the way when he’s towering over jayce in the astral plane he calls him *his* partner for the first time.

we’re seeing who viktor is when he inhabits a body that he thinks is perfect

in the avatar of the glorious evolution, where viktor finally sees himself as powerful, as pure, as just like everybody else… he’s confident with jayce, even dominant, in a way he would never allow himself to be while he was alive in his original body.

and of course the kicker is that without his imperfections, without his entire self, he’s not viktor to jayce anymore. ‘my partner died in this room’

and it takes until the finale, until viktor can see himself through jayce’s eyes, for it to click that he could have been this way with jayce all along. that he has always been equal to jayce. that his confidence, his grace, his power - jayce saw it all along.

and i just found the end of the council room scene so devastating. the way that once viktor’s perfect evolved body is broken we immediately see him huddled and collapsed on the floor, making himself as small as possible

HI i drew this for the dimension 20 calendar and it made me fall, impossibly, even more in love with dropout as a company.

misfits and magic is one of my all time favorite seasons. it’s so healing to watch as a queer person who grew up loving the wizarding world. and the fact i was asked to put “fuck terfs” five times into an illustration of kids flying around on brooms, rules, and i’ll never get over it
