"I'm sitting already, aren't I?" They say this, but still get up. "Yes, please."
She stands, but manages to trip in the process. Xe start laughing softly, but it looks almost like ze're crying.

Wanting to fuck the sky, and more specifically the sun, is what Icarus killed.
While I do not want to fuck the sky, I do not discourage it for all you fools who wish to try.
Howdy-ho Tumblr! A friend of mine made a bet, and so I have two questions for whoever wishes to answer:
1. Are you a Vast Avatar (or similar)
2. Do you want to fuck the sky

"Myself. I haven't sailed alone since the night I drowned."
Xe should be over it. They shouldn't still be afraid of the crushing pressure.
"I might try, though."
Gale is... sitting isn't the right word. They're floating above faer seat on a park bench. The wind is messing up her hair, but he doesn't care. Xe look happy.
Amelie glances at her while passing by, rolling its eyes.
"What a show off."
Fae mumbles quietly.

"Been there, done that. Lucases aren't the best partners!"
She sighs.
"I miss the sea. I feel like a Victorian lady who has come down with an ailment and is in desperate need of a trip to the coast!"
They grin a little. Fae had seen the Victorian era first hand.

Gale laughs a little, and xe find it's the first time in a while that they've done so genuinely.
"Something something join up and become a member of Peter Lucas's crew and make them sail around endlessly?"
Ze giggle at the thought of the old man sailing in circles.

"Sure. There are other ways to do everything. But somehow-"
He pauses, breathing in deeply.
"Somehow, I think I was always meant to be alone. I started serving the Vast because I didn't want the marriage I was being forced into. And the cosmos, the sky, it's so empty."
They press faer head against Amelie's shoulder. Xe may not be the best of friends, but Amelie is the closest thing that Gale has to consistent.
"I think that this is the way it was always going to go."

They laugh bitterly.
"Everything and everyone has its own agenda. Why should the fog be any different? At least it's quiet."
Gale's sitting, head in hands. It's shaking.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I don't- I can't control this."

Gale looks up at that, trying to put on their best smile. "Been quite some time since someone's called me kid!"
She's trying to joke, but xer laugh isn't right. He just wants some quiet. So why did fae come here?

He inhales sharply, hand instinctively going up to cover their ear.
"Like a crowded room. A train station. Anywhere there are people."
Every noise is amplified. Xe're pressing their hands to her ears now, unable to block it out. Then, he stops, looks at Amelie, and they're alone.
Amelie can hardly see anything through the fog, but it can hear faint sobbing.
"I am so sorry. I know you hate me. After all these years, I've never thought about how lonely it is until now. I miss so many people. So many old ghosts. And I'll wind up all alone again."

"You just see that. You aren't experiencing noise. It's so loud. Too many people. And I can't get the noise out of my head!"
A tear drops to the ground, accompanied by faint raindrops. The area that the two are is turning dreary, faint rain and fog surrounding the pair.
"You should just leave. Everyone leaves, eventually, so why shouldn't you?"

Tears begin to well up in Gale's eyes. They're just confused. They need to be some place familiar, like the cafe. Fae're panicking. She needs to ground as much as a servant of the Falling Titan can.
He makes xer way over to the corner, pressing their hands over xer ears. Too much noise, too many people, too much light.

Gale rushes in, wind following her into the coffee shop. He hurries over to the counter, order rushed. They seem out of breath. Then, ze blink out of existence. They appear a second later, just as if were a trick of the light.

"It was 1799, I think. Can't remember! So it hardly counts as the 1700s!"
Ze brush it off. They didn't mean to say that. Goodness knows what Amelie would think. And then fae'd need to explain their history and age and connection to the Vast and-
And they disappear, blinking out of existence. Then just as if Amelie had just blinked, Gale reappears.

Gale blinks slowly, then shakes their head.
"I'm doing great! I haven't seen Cara in a while, though. Perhaps I should be worried..."
She stops, interrupting himself with a small laugh.
"I also got thrown off a building? By a young vastling who mistook me for a servant of the Lonely! Could you imagine? Me? Serving the Forsaken? God, no!"
