This is one of my favorite quotes. When I work with couples who are newly engaged and planning the next steps to creating a beautiful life together, there are a million and one choices to be made. In that, you will experience joys, celebration, fun, challenges and the occasional frustration as you build your life and your wedding plans. You always have choices. What you do with these choices and how you respond to each other and to your soon-to-be family and even your friends is everything. How you adjust the sails, can greatly change your direction. Keep in mind what matters most and what your end goal is. When working with couples I remind them if you choose three couples life goals and three wedding goals, and navigate around those making sure what’s important is always at the center, your course will remain true. You will adjust to the rocky spots, the wake, the waves and arrive together, stronger because of it. Keep your focus on the things that matter. Keep love at the center. Remember wedding planning is just run at getting to the heart of the life that will be yours. Real life and wedding days have a few hiccups, how you handle it together...will make all the difference in planning a day and a life that make you and yours incredibly happy.

5 Surefire Ways to Make Your Wedding Day a Success

1. Have a chat with your soon to be spouse and pick 3 priorities (like life priorities) not wedding day priorities that are going to be the heart at the center of your wedding. After all, you’re building a life not just an event. 

2. Have a budget, big or small. Everyone has one. Know yours and get creative with working within it. If you have couples goals, this sets the ground work for a successful marriage. 

3. Create a good guest list. 

4. Create a rough timeline as a starting point before you meet with anyone. This will help guide you as to the number of hours of services and when vendors will arrive and depart. The timeline and guest list work in conjunction with your budget to create.

5. Anticipate delays and create buffer room. You will collaborate with your team of professionals to make sure the rough timeline truly works knowing its a flexible document that will change before you get to a final version.
