The Great Easter Hunt
Did you know? They call it an "Easter Hunt" because of the hunting strategy of a King Cottontail (Tyrannolagus Gigas) who stalks its prey: the Springtime Chicken (Gallusaurus Fons). Two relusive creatures who only come out during the spring and summer seasons, originally hailing from Rapa Nui (or as many would know it as: Easter Island) until their widespread introduction in Europe, Canada, and North America.

DOGE just froze funding to vital Federal and Indigenous conservation programs devoted to supporting the very delicate and tenuous existence of the black-footed ferret.
I fell in love with these animals as a kid traveling to our National Parks. Their rarity and ferocity made me sharply aware, even as a child, of just how much of a responsibility we have toward our environment. I can't bear the thought of them being a fucking casualty of Trump and Musk.
Look at them! They do war dances.

WIR characters as dinosaurs (PART 2)
Vanellope is a Sinosauropteryx as well as the other racers. I figured she’d have a deformed leg, referencing her glitching in canon
The Turbo Twins are Velociraptors just like Turbo.
Jet is the calmer one and Set is the more chaotic one of the two. Set clashes with Turbo lots so Jet is forced to be the middle man. 😭
They are taller than Turbo tho, part of the reason why their “leader” is jealous of em most of the time.
I’m planning to do two characters per post, plus some random doodle bits here and there. Next up is Ralph and Felix! ;)

Alright gonna get political, watch out.
Just for the record, I think Canadians really DO need to vote this April 28th to avoid a very bad situation (i.e. the local transphobic demagogue) and I will bang my drum about it again.
But I'm not interested in joining in on the "Elbows Up" thing anytime soon.
Yes, we need to stand up for ourselves and fend off our own brand of right-wing idiots. No argument there!
But acting as if we aren't also a society suffering under late-stage capitalism built on colonization and gentrification isn't going to help things.
And the fact that our government's primary response is still counter-tariffs isn't helping.
Acting like we're this perfect country when there are still people who can't afford their groceries, prescriptions, or a new home, can't find a job, or are in danger of having their own rights undermined isn't going to go away just by waving a stupid red leaf around.
No, what I think needs to happen isn't a renewed wave of Canadian patriotism. I think what needs to happen next is Canadians getting out and voting on April 28th (or sooner!) to prevent a future fascist takeover here, then to start organizing to push for real change.
Not just with each other but with American citizens however possible. We're all struggling to get by right now, and the US is about to get it the worst.
Sure, there's a lot of a greasy types in ivory towers and white houses who have this wave of defiance rightly coming. But never forget that the only thing making the average Canadian different from the average American, is a flag and a border.
We can't count on our governments to set things right anymore.
We need to be there to show compassion and support for each other, no matter our nationality, if we ever want this pointless "war" to end.
