Jay.... Remarkably similar to Jesse, don't you think, Gabriel?
[Gabriel grimaces, the expression sharp and unguarded — he clearly doesn’t appreciate the comparison.]
Besides the fact that their names both start with a J? No. Not similar. Not at all…
[The last words trail off, quieter, barely audible as his gaze drifts somewhere far beyond the present. Thought overtakes him like a tide. Were they really so different?
They had to be. Jesse was a fighter — bold, brash, reckless. A firestarter. Jay… Jay had always been cautious, soft-spoken, observant. Smarter, maybe. Not stronger though.
If Jay had even a little of that fire… maybe he would’ve survived. Maybe he wouldn’t have come with them at all. Maybe… maybe he would’ve seen them for what they were. What they were becoming. Fools. Frauds.
Gabriel exhales sharply through his nose, jaw tightening — but he says nothing more.]

Ivor, long time no see. You don’t remember me for a reason, but that is alright.
I see you heard about what happened between me and Hadrian…or perhaps you witnessed it all, with those ninja skills of yours, and my pure rage directed towards Hadrian, I wouldn’t be surprised if I had missed your presence.
I must say, I like the message you delivered to the sorry bastard. He deserves everything he has coming to him.
[She holds her hand out to shake, and though her eyes have no pupils, alone any veins in them, the genuine respect on her face is hard to miss.]
[Ivor stares at the hologram, expression unreadable — perhaps unimpressed, perhaps deeply irritated. Or both. Or neither.
There’s a twisting deep in his gut, sharp and wrong, like something coiling under his ribs. It doesn’t like her. Never did.
Never liked any of them.
That foolish adventuring group… meddling where they shouldn’t, tearing it from it's brothers and sisters, isolating it, turning it into some villainous artifact. Kill her. Kill her. Killherkillherkillher-]
[Ivor blinks hard, breath catching. The world snaps back into focus. Were those his thoughts? What was he thinking just now? No- who was thinking it?]
[Mechanically, Ivor takes Alexbrine’s hand, shaking it with a distant nod, words sluggish on his tongue.]
Yes, that… yes.
[He frowns, eyes narrowing, not at her, mind chasing ghosts of thoughts that slipped just out of reach. There was something there. He’s sure of it. He heard something.]

[ Soren smiled, happy to see Gabriel perk up a bit.. ] I mean, you’re sweet too! Maybe the comparisons come from your kind nature? I certainly see the resemblance! Kinda, bright eyes- loyal
[ Soren shrugged, his gaze softened when meeting Gabriel’s ] I’m probably not making much sense am I? -🍁
[Gabriel waves a hand dismissively, the gesture a little too wide, a little too loose — alcohol clearly softening both his balance and his guard. A warm blush blooms across his cheeks]
You just see things your own way, as always, old friend. There’s nothing shameful in that.
[He exhales, long and tired, rubbing at his temples as if trying to press the thoughts back into order]
I should probably go… There's still so much work waiting for me.
[Gabriel offers a faint smile, gentle and a touch crooked]
Still.. I’m grateful for this talk. It was.. pleasant. Truly.

Why are you two(rom, stel) together.
Are you bound or something? Or just like to see what the other has to deal with and watch them suffer
[Stella rolls her eyes]
I am a changed person! I don't like seeing anyone suffer.
Bs.
Shut up. Anyway, no, we aren't bond, it's just that Olivia doesn't have an opportunity to make extra device for this imbecile, so we are forced to share one.
Stfu.
What a baby.

Gabriel, pardon me if this is a bit..intrusive
But you seem to be quite protective over those who are younger than you? Even calling them kid, kiddo. Etc etc..did you loose a Kid?
[Gabriel stares at the device for a long time, far too long for anyone’s comfort. His posture is stiff, almost rigid, eyes locked onto it with quiet intensity. The weight of memory hangs heavy, and for a moment, it’s as if he’s deciding whether to unearth something meant to stay buried. Something so sacred, so painful, even Ivor had sworn never to speak of it]
No, not a child. Not exactly. I’ve never had children of my own. Never had the chance.
I can't be a proper father, nor a husband, not with the responsibilities I carry.
[He exhales slowly, sinking back into his chair]
The Order- didn’t always have five members. A long time ago, when we were still green and bright-eyed, there were six of us.
Me. Ivor. Soren. Magnus. Ellegaard. And Jay.
He was younger than any of us, barely sixteen, with a goggles too big for his head and a heart far too eager. I didn’t want him to come. Thought he deserved better than monster guts and muddy boots. A future far away from blades and blood.
But the others… they thought it would be good to teach someone. To pass something on. And Jay was like a sponge. Soaking up knowledge, always listening, always learning. No particular gift, but hungry for everything we gave him.
[Gabriel’s jaw tightens. His eyes drift shut. One hand rises, absently propping his chin]
It didn’t last. Of course it didn’t. It was our first mistake.
My mistake.
We looked away. Just for a second. And in that second — the last thing we saw was his face. Frightened. And the hiss of a creeper behind him.
[Silence falls. Heavy. Absolute. Gabriel doesn’t speak again]

“Magnus?” { they tilted their head } “you mean that really, really. Angry one? The one that could blow me to smitherings in he wanted to? That Magnus?” -💫
[Romeo smiled, barely holding himself from giggling and kicking his feet as if he heard the funniest joke ever]
Angry? Yeah, no. His fire died with Ellegaard long ago. The most he'll do is grumble and curse you.
That's, honestly, a bit sad even for me. Seeing someone so energetic and chaotic turning into a helpless sack of potatoes. Though,
[He shrugs]
He refuses to get any help himself, so. Not much anyone can do.

Is Ivor feeling any better Harper?? He better be resting!
He's.. uh... Yeah, he's stubborn, but it's okay. At least for now.
[Harper nervously taps on the pile of paperwork on her desk]
Jesse visited and convinced him to rest. Sadly, not before he got that argument with.. other Hadrian.
[She seems rather annoyed by that]
Ugh, I don't know how many times I'll be forced to tell him that Gabriel is a grown man and can spend his time with whoever he wants. Especially since this Hadrian is clearly a no threat, I mean I would've understood his worry of it was our Hadrian, that tyrant-
[Harper take a few deep breaths, calming herself down]
Okay. Yes. Ivor is resting.

* IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME, HUMAN, BUT MY SISTER AUBREY HAS PREPARED HER BYGONIAN FAVORITE: FORGONE HOME FRIES
>it’s a plate of (monochromatic) home fries. It’s salty with an aftertaste that makes you recall something bittersweet about your past
[Gabriel peers down at the plate, brows slightly furrowed. The meal’s monochromatic sight makes him wonder whether it was caused by the device’s transportation, or did it always look like this?]
Yes.. good day to you, too. That’s- quite the sight.
[Surprisingly, the taste has nothing to do with fries. It reminds him more of.. pasta. A memory stirs: the last time he cooked something like this was ages ago. The day before the EnderDragon. The warm everything before everything began to downhill]
Well. Hm. Be sure to tell your sister it turned out wonderfully!
[He adds with a smile bright, practiced, but not quite reaching the eyes]

[Gabriel hummed, the sound low and warm, carrying an almost playful note as the wheels of the carriage rolled to a slow stop]
We are aboooout- there!
[The carriage came to a halt at the edge of what looked like a sprawling town that still carried the soul of a village. Before them stretched a scene alive with color and movement. Tall wooden poles lined the streets, draped with ribbons in vivid shades of crimson, gold, and sapphire, fluttering in the evening breeze like captured flames. Some ribbons drifted upward as if caught by an invisible breeze, twisting into shapes — birds, flowers, and tiny dragons — that playfully circled over the heads of laughing children before vanishing in a sparkle. Lanterns of stained glass hung from ropes overhead, each one already lit, casting soft pools of emerald, ruby, and amber light onto the cobblestone road.
The square ahead teemed with people. Laughter rose and fell like music, mingling with the lively tunes of flutes, fiddles, and the deep thrum of hand-drums. Performers in motley costumes — clowns with jingling bells sewn into their hats, fire-breathers sending brief sparks into the darkening sky, and jugglers tossing brightly colored pins — drew cheering circles of villagers and travelers alike.
Even the horses pulling simple carts were decorated: their manes braided with flowers, bells tied to their harnesses so they jingled softly with each step. Merchants called out from stalls heavy with sweets glazed in honey, roasted nuts spiced with cinnamon, and meat skewers sizzling over open flames. A group of masked dancers spun in the center square, their skirts catching stray motes of magic so that each movement left a glowing arc in the air, like fireflies frozen for just a heartbeat.
Gabriel stepped down from the carriage, boots crunching softly against the enchanted dust scattered over the road. He turned, pausing for a brief moment as the lights reflected in his deep blue eyes. One hand held the doorframe, the other extended towards Hadrian in a gesture that felt almost formal, but softened by a faint, amused smile]
So... second date? I'm excited. you're quite the pleasant break from people..
So, where to, dear?
- @dirty-cheater
[Gabriel chuckles, covering his mouth with gloved hand]
Ah, that's unexpected to hear, truly.
[His eyes sparkle with affection]
I've heard there should be festival in nearby city, all types of fun you can imagine. From underground fights to simple horse riding. If you don't mind, we can visit the place. Sernora is oddly beautiful during this time of the year.
Of course I'm paying.

[Gabriel’s eyes widened ever so slightly, surprise flickering across his face at the sudden praise. Before he could stop himself, a dumb, lopsided smile crept onto his lips, and a soft blush bloomed on his cheeks. He looked away quickly, mumbling under his breath]
Ah- yeah- right- okay, that’s…
[He trailed off, stumbling over his words — something almost entirely foreign to him. Still, he let out a quiet laugh, amused at himself. Just a few words, and here he was, blushing like some starry-eyed teenager]
Sweet flora and fauna…
[Gabriel cleared his throat, trying to gather what remained of his composure]
Okay- yes. Uh- we’re almost there.
[He turned his gaze toward the window again, his blush lingering. The last rays of sunlight spilled over his face, catching in his deep blue eyes and making them burn like twilight]
So... second date? I'm excited. you're quite the pleasant break from people..

[Gabriel let out a dry chuckle, shaking his head]
Careless brawls in abandoned buildings aren’t nearly as thrilling as they sound, believe me. They're mostly… well, ugly, to put it mildly. No proper weapons, no armor — just blood, mud, and someone dying far too soon. And that’s hardly entertaining, especially if you were hoping they’d make it to the next round.
Not sure what kind of underground matches you’ve seen, but the ones here... they’re fascinating in a way that feels almost wrong. So much raw strength packed into one room.
[He bit his lip, gaze drifting toward the carriage window]
I do admire power, you know. The adrenaline, the discipline, the rush of victory — it’s intoxicating.
[Gabriel sighed, a faint, almost dreamy smile curling at the corners of his mouth. Unlike politics, unlike people, fighting had always been simple. A warrior has only one task — to win]
But those fights down there? They're time-consuming and offer very little in return. Sure, I could win — but the money? A pittance, compared to what I can earn through trade or diplomacy.
You see,
[He propped his chin on his hand, watching the other with calm amusement]
I get it. The rich want to be entertained, so they watch. Fighters want money or the thrill, so they enter. It's voluntary — I have no quarrel with that. I just wish they’d spend a little less on watching people bleed... and a little more on feeding the ones who already do.
[Gabriel smirked, tilting his head slightly]
And you, I suppose, found the perfect line of work. I can just see you down there — announcing the match with that gleam of mischief in your voice, and that unmistakable spark in your-.. beautiful eyes.
So... second date? I'm excited. you're quite the pleasant break from people..
So, where to, dear?

[Gabriel simply smiled, amused by Hadrian’s subtle attitude, and took his hand without hesitation. Leading him slowly out of the Temple, they began walking side by side through the grand corridors — high-ceilinged, ornate, almost regal in their quiet majesty]
Hope you don’t mind me telling you a bit about the festival.
[He began, his tone light, conversational — yet never careless]
As I said, it’ll take place in Sernora — riverside city, quite wealthy these days. Every five years, they hold a celebration called Curalter, meant to honor valor, modesty, and prosperity.
[Gabriel gave a faint shrug]
Sounds a bit lofty, I know. But the proceeds actually go to charity — both within the city and to the smaller towns nearby. That’s... frankly, the only reason I ever bother attending.
[A beat. He glanced sideways at Hadrian, a subtle spark of dry humor in his eyes]
You’ll see all kinds of ‘entertainment’ there — from cheerful street performers for children to, well… less legal activities. Underground fights mostly, hosted for a very particular class of wealthy thrill-seekers. Those funds never reach charity, of course, so I tend to avoid that side of the night.
[Gabriel gave Hadrian’s hand a small, reassuring squeeze — calm, steady, grounded]
Main fireworks are set for midnight. Right now it’s about... eight. So we’ve got time. No rush. Just you, me, and a night ahead of us.
[His hand remained steady and warm in Hadrian’s own.
Just ahead, a carriage waited — polished wood and brass details catching the dim light, drawn by two perfectly groomed horses. Gabriel approached with casual grace, letting go of Hadrian’s hand only for a moment as he stepped aside.
Then, with an effortless motion and an unspoken elegance, he offered his arm — palm open, elbow slightly bent — the gesture unmistakably that of a gentleman again]
Allow me.
[He supported Hadrian gently as he stepped up, ensuring every movement was smooth, dignified, natural — as if this kind of gesture was written into his bones.
Only once Hadrian was seated comfortably inside, did Gabriel follow, quiet and composed as ever]
So... second date? I'm excited. you're quite the pleasant break from people..
