For my final project, I utilized previously captured images and transformed them into small Polaroid-style photographs. The initial concept was to explore how Miami's urban development has reshaped the city. Polaroids, with their unique charm, effectively capture the vivid colors and textures of Miami's architecture, both contemporary and historic.
Using Photoshop, I created custom frames and applied a grain effect to give the images a more vintage appearance. Additionally, I adjusted the color balance of each photo to ensure consistent contrast across the entire series.
The online display of my final project reinforces the concept of Miami's urban transformation by making the images easily accessible to a wider audience. Presenting the Polaroid-style photos digitally allows viewers to explore the contrast between the city's historic and modern architecture. The ability to zoom in highlights these details, emphasizing the city's change and evolution. The digital format mirrors how technology shapes urban development, while the vintage Polaroid frames represent Miami’s rich history.
