Skin against skin, butt and bone
You're drawing by yourself so you must atone
Boys or girls, when you draw their rears
There's one rule that you must adhere
LET THE BUTTCHEEKS KISS THE FLOOR.
LET THE BUTTCHEEKS KISS THE FLOOR.
LET THE BUTTCHEEKS
KISS THE FLOOR.

how are you comfortable with your sexuality and religion at the same time it’s like ever since i’ve come to terms with being a lesbian i keep fighting with the idea of god
i will say firstly that there is no shame in drifting away from or letting go of god. it is okay to feel that you cannot reconcile, do not force something if it doesnt fit.
for me it was a very long battle with thinking about god and balancing being religious (in any form) and being lgbt. i used to resent god for allowing horrible things to happen in the world and for all the injustices we find in our daily lives. when i cursed god i soon realized that even that was still acknowledging his existence.
i grappled with the thought of divine love, but that was because i considered myself an "extra" person. i wasnt a Real person, i was leftover stock stretched into soup and therefore wasnt worthy of divine love. this is one of the biggest lies oppressors tell us: that there are "extra" people who were made specifically to be oppressed. god did not create us with the purpose of being marginalized just as he did not create anyone to be subservient to anyone. people who would deny us our right to god's love want nothing more than for us to believe we are subhuman.
god created different languages and cultures and appearances so that we might learn from one another. so that we can appreciate the beauty and diversity of our fellow humans. its the same with lgbt people, our existence isnt an accident but an intentional act. we are but another part of the wonder in the world and our experiences are as valuable to the history of earth as anyone elses.
most major religions are headed and dominated by cishet men, usually from ruling classes/ethnic groups too. they may be the most listened to but that doesnt make them right.
we may feel abandoned by god especially in this turbulent time, and in many ways we are left alone, as that is the sacrifice for free will, but we are not ignored or unacknowledged. not a single bird falls without god knowing, but the bird still falls.
im not sure how to end this but, do what is best for you. reach out and find other religious lgbt people, and rejoice in your similarities and differences.
