Bit of a strange ask but what's S's advice for someone trying to write a fan fiction that includes multiple main characters? How does she avoid the likelihood of it being too confusing for readers to understand ? 2 years ago S's story inspired me to try a multiple main cast story and not just stick to my typical 2 main character layout. I've left AFF and my drafts for a while and now I'm trying to revisit my story writing. Thanks!

Direct answer from S. : 

First of all thank you for this ask, it means a lot, really!

Secondly I feel like the main thing you need to focus on is actually the story, not the characters. Writing a fanfiction might be hard because you address the people/characters who are actually real (kpop, celebrities) or already created (other fandoms) so sometimes it feels pretty odd to, for example, giving them different personalities from what we know. My advise here is to really make the story plot a priority - think of the main story, then the others should somehow pop up in your mind, later link people to these stories and I guess you should go well from that point. 

Also try to make each “story-link” to the character pretty interesting, so you, as the writer, will not get bored or/and biased. 

Obviously stories with many main characters are not the easiest to write because honestly - there will always be someone more developed, someone who accidentally is there to put the whole MASSIVE plot together so yes, sometimes you might get frustrated that you literally NEED TO give someone more lines/dialogues/situations for the sake of the whole story. Not to mention that stories like that are just super loooong so again, sometimes you feel like it’s just getting boring and you’re missing the point but don’t worry about that too much. I feel like in many-main-characters stories this is something natural and necessary. 

Also what I’d like to advise is to plan the story instead of writing with the flow - I mean it happens anyway, sometimes you change your mind or come with some new, interesting idea you’d like to add, but try to have at least some very basic draft of the story before you will start writing.

Official response from S."Character death IS possible in B.E. as the story circulates around some illegal activities. The fic is decided from a long time now and that's all I can say.I also can't spoiler much more but the other points mentioned in the msg are highly possible.B.E. main idea was to make the fic highly realistic just like normal life - it has a lot of drama ready to be served. That's why I think many readers will really hate me later. The sweetness and high-school co-called drama shall be kind of cut shortly"

We tried to get as much information as we can from S. about Jessica but she’s not spoiling her that much. We know she will be a romantic interest for someone and we know S. had been waiting to create a female character like her becuase “that was needed”. When we wrote her about our Hogwarts Houses collage idea she answered Jessica would fit Gryffindor but that doesn’t spoil much.

the comeback chapter is happiness and glitter and unicorns to the point where I'm seriously scared about what's next. I'm sure S. won't joke around anymore and it's gonna be a hell of a ride to the end...Only 7 chapters left!!

The longest chapter ever that took over 25 pages and 10 months to be done! New characters (Xiumin, Hyuna and Jessica), the band, GTae, Baekrin, Kaiminzy, BTS, Bom’s comeback, I swear everything is there but since it was a long way I decided to put it ALL in one chapter. Additionally chapter 23 was supposed to be more positive and without any cliffhangers but I also decided it’s about time to spice things up a little. The fun starts now I guess…
