Hi there ! I know that you have a face book for Heat main and supporting characters - thank you ! - but I wondered if you had a headcanon for Javi during the Narcos: PR era? I know there are some physical descriptors sprinkled in of current Javi, but just wondered if there’s a specific version (look? character?) of Pedro Pascal’s that you’ve taken inspiration from as you continue Heat past the Narcos: Colombia era.

(Trying to refrain from gushing about how in awe I am of your writing and storytelling and how much of a source of hope, empathy, and love it’s been for me these last few days [not that it hasn’t always been an escape, I just have more of an excuse to detach from reality now] but thanks for sharing your words with us xx)

It means a lot to me that you enjoy Heat so much. So I don't feel silly for admitting that I've thought about this A LOT throughout writing the "Narcos: Puerto Rico" era of Heat 😁

So the last time we see Javi within the canon of the series is on his land, disgruntled and dejected at seeing the boats go by. He's gruff and clearly out of practice doing manual labor.

Each era of Javi is distinct, I think. And his hair is the most noticeable tell for the era: Shaggy and finger-combed with a late 70s flare in season 1, slightly neater but still mostly curling in wayward tufts that fan across his crown and brow in season 2, and trimmed and neatly-brushed locks styled dapperly (aka Boss!Javi) in season 3. But by the end of season 3, Javi's looking unpolished:

I like to think that after this, when he's in Laredo for a spell before he takes the job in PR, Javi's defaulted to letting his hair grow out a bit, so by the time he heads down to take the job, and Querida sees him in the meeting for the first time since he left Bogotá, Javi looks like this:

His sideburns are grown out again, he's back to the shaggy, finger-combed look to his curls, but he's really trying to make a good impression. So instead of the rumpled, well-worn suits he'd don before when he was a field agent, he's in a new, nicely tailored light gray suit, not dissimilar to the great business suits he wore throughout season 3. So in the conference room, he's basically in something similar to this look:

Querida loves all his looks, and frankly so do I, but the combo of his shaggy, unruly tufted locks and a tailored, dapperly dressed Javi is dead-sexy 😏

In the upcoming chapter, though, Javi is going to have a new 'do, which, I will spoil as being something between these two looks:

Not a formal request per se, but imagine being Javi's co-worker and him flirting with you in spanish thinking you wont understand, but then randomly surprising him by like, ordering in spanish at a restaurant or something??? Idk

And when he asks about it just telling him that you're actually latina or smth, sorry if it doesnt make any sense😭 i just dont see enough stories where both Javi and the reader are latinos

i know some stories exist out there where love interest is latine but i can't name them off the top of my head. also, i know a lot of people prefer the x reader style rather than ocs (totally valid) but i think that also hinders some of the rep we could be getting here (i could be wrong; correct me if i am pls)

i def think we need more rep for women of color, anyways. can someone explain to me why pinterest HATES melanated skin?! it's so hard to make moodboards and stuff like that for fics sometimes bc of the lack of ~aesthetic~ pics there are. it's always some white girl (no offense to my white readers) and i'm like where's the MELANIN? THE DIFFERENT HAIR TEXTURES? but anyways i am ranting

The "if you voted for Trump unfollow me" posts are returning, but given then general makeup of your average tumblr user I think there's a different message I'd like to give.

If you didn't vote because "both parties are the same" or "it won't make a difference" or because Kamala wasn't the pure and perfect leader that you wanted or you "didn't want blood on your hands", honestly whether or not you follow me doesn't make a damned bit of difference. But I want you to look. Take a good look at the despair around you right now. And every godforsaken thing that follows I want you to fucking look. Look and know that you could have helped prevent it. We still haven't recovered from his last four years, the world hasn't fucking recovered, and now we're staring down the barrel of god knows how many more years and a river of fucking blood to come along with it.

But your pride and your principles were more important to you than the actual real fucking world we live in.

I hope, if nothing else, that you can take this in. I hope you learn. I hope you grow. I hope you find it in you to realize that in this country they soak our hands in blood the second we take our first breath and the only thing that matters then is what you fucking do with them. What you fight for. Who you fight for. Who you defend.

I hope you wake up. And you step up. And you fucking fight.

Rant time:

I am seriously, seriously considering being done with the Pedro Pascal fandom at this point.

I love Pedro immensely and will continue to admire and support him and root for him. But his "fans"? The loud obnoxiously ignorant stans that allegedly love him but spew stupid shit about him and act like his rogue publicist who've objectified him and bray like empty-headed hooligans about "PEEPAW/OLD MAN/DADDY" over every little thing? Who speak in degrading terms or reference him in covertly disparaging ways couched between catcalling and snide envy? Fuck ya'll.

He's a grown-ass man! Just because the majority of the new wave of fans that are sharing content about him are younger doesn't mean they have to act like their I.Q. is the same number as their age.

The rest of us have been ambivalent, albeit complicit by not calling these "fans" out, which has led to the fandom becoming increasing toxic and insufferable as a whole.

The one thing a lot of us actively enjoy and spend our free time building on is community. Some only have this community to share and make friends in, around a common - and RESPECTFUL - goal: Celebrating and creating fun content. Encouraging each other and yes - rooting for more good to happen in the fandom, especially to the person that inspires said fandom. What's been happening for a while now within this fandom is not keeping with any of that, which pisses me off. It's coming off as resentful, degrading, disparaging, and obsessive. Not to mention eye-roll-inducingly-annoying.

I could go on and on, but I won't.

Back at the London shoot, there's no hint of this alleged "abuse." In fact, the two can't stop goofing off — doing trust falls, dancing to Pascal's playlist, and having staring contests with the statues. At one point, though, Mescal turns from silly to sentimental, patting Pascal's arm as he says, "I've missed you. It's so good to see you."
