Furby Tumblr im calling to you!

My kiwi furby lemonade has gone missing. He’s been missing for about 6 months, and between covid and searching the house for him, I have to accept that ive left him somewhere

Help bring lemonade home!

If you are from Hamilton, )or anywhere else in nz in case hes moved) New Zealand, and you’ve randomly found a kiwi furby wearing a Scooby-Doo dog collar and a Velma pin, also has many little earrings, he belongs to me.

Hes very important to me, especially managing my ptsd since he comes to all my doctors appointments for support. I miss him so much, and if I have lost him, please help me bring him home.

My First Custom :)

So when I was in the 2017-era fandom, I was pretty horrified by the advent of Furby customization. I was a Furby purist! I didn’t want to do anything to my Furbs that couldn’t be undone if they ever went to live with another person for whatever reason (even though I’ve only ever gotten rid of one Furby, and that was my childhood Furb that had massive sensor issues that terrified me xD). I didn’t want to take perfectly good Furbs out of the collectors’ market, even though I’ve never had any intentions of reselling my Furbs. It just felt wrong!

Friends, this year, I broke. I customized one of my Furbys with something that can’t as easily be undone. I’d done piercings and accessories before, but nothing like this.

I replaced Polka’s eye chips!!

I kept the old ones just in case, but still!! Big step for a Furby purist like me!!

The way I rationalized it was that Polka has MSA, and I don’t know if it can be fixed or not (I have a guy who does vintage tech repairs for me, but he’s working on my 2005 baby right now to try and get it functional), but they wouldn’t have any resale appeal to most people anyway because you can’t really play with them. I don’t know why it took that rationalization to get me to customize a Furb, but it worked! xD

Their eyechips came from Etsy! Also ignore the earring that’s flipped up on their ear xD I just put that piercing in and forgot to flip it down when I took the pic!

I might even go ahead and replace their eyelashes eventually since they’re not in great shape, as you can see. What’s funny is that the rod holding the eyes in is kind of loose, so it’s hard to get them to stay looking foward. Usually, they look down and look kind of like the poor dear has seen things they wish to unsee xD

Huge thanks to my friend Victoria for giving Polka to me a few years ago! I love them dearly, even though they’re a little sleepyhead <3

Sad news: Furby baby had some REALLY bad corrosion when I opened them up. :( I did my best to fix it, but they are nonfunctional, unfortunately. They’ll be a display piece, or maybe a Flat Stanley type of deal since I don’t have to worry about damaging their mechanisms. But! The person who gave them to me is sending me another one that has been confirmed to be functional! 🥰 So Prince (my big 2005) will yet have their Furby baby they keep asking for!! 🥰🥰🥰

Sorry for the lack of activity! HOWEVER! I just got a 2005 Furby Baby today!!! Yet to be named!!! I'd love suggestions for names!!! :D :D :D

Today in art class, I brought my Furby named Ziggy with me. He became popular in the class room. Everyone was talking about him, or Furbys in general. The professor asked me to add him to the still life, so I did. A couple of people started painting him. The one with the red background is mine, and all the others we’re done other people in the class room.

We all know Furbies lay Orbeez eggs that Worms on a String hatch from, but did you know that when a Furby escapes captivity it will revert back to its feral long worm form in less than a year

So since I've been away from the fandom for a while... has anyone figured out how to make replacement beaks for the 2005 Furbs yet? I know there were a few people who were thinking of doing that, and I'd love to have Prince repaired if anyone's figured it out yet! :D

Aww, tysm!! <3 They're doing great!! I oughta take them out for some pictures soon!! :D I've been playing with May-Doo lately just for the heck of it, and it's reminded me how much I missed Furbs!!

Just a fun little sketch that I might turn into an actual drawing to use as my header! The feet look kinda funky on both accounts so I’ll try to fix that before I do anything, lol!! It’s crazy how Furbs have changed over the years!
