Ok so if the babadook was a woman then it's name would be babadooka, also I found its actor and it's age is 43 so the babadook (in human years) is 43 years old.

Horror Movies Without Sexual Violence
Hey, kids!! A friend of mine, who’s a huge horror fan, told me that she’s been having a lot of trouble watching horror films because of the prevalence of sexual violence within the genre. She asked for some genuinely good horror films that don’t feature sexual violence OR a close linking of sex and violence (ex: characters being murdered during or right after having had sex).
So, here’s my list of horror films that are (in my opinion) excellent movies and don’t feature sexual violence. The movies are in no particular order.
1. Night of the Living Dead (1968, Unrated – I’d give it a hard PG-13)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, violence & gore, racism, “cannibalism” (the zombies eat people)
Summary: While visiting her father’s grave, a young woman is attacked by a strange man and forced to flee to a farmhouse, where she finds a group of survivors and learns that the dead are rising to eat the living. Tensions rise as zombies surround the farmhouse and the survivors argue over how to hold out until help arrives.
2. Dawn of the Dead (1978, Unrated – I’d give it an R)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, violence & gore, racism, “cannibalism”
Summary: As a zombie outbreak spreads throughout the country, a group of survivors seek refuge in a mall. After several months, the group begins to splinter and outsiders arrive to permanently destroy what peace they had.
3. Day of the Dead (1985, Unrated – I’d give it a hard R)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, violence & gore, sexism, “cannibalism”
Summary: With society utterly destroyed by zombies, a group of scientists and military personnel have taken refuge inside a military bunker, with the scientists hoping to find a cure and better understand the zombies.
4. The Thing (1982, R)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, violence & gore, extreme body horror, animal death
Summary: A group of scientists and workers isolated in Antarctica come under attack by a horrifying, shapeshifting alien that absorbs its victims and takes on their form. Paranoia and distrust grows as they realize that any one of them could be the creature in disguise.
5. The Others (2001, PG-13)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, child abuse (barely shown)
Summary: At the end of WWII, a British woman lives in a darkened mansion with her two children, who are fatally allergic to the sun, and becomes convinced that their home is haunted.
6. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978, PG – I’d give it a light PG-13)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, body horror, violence
Summary: When their loved ones suddenly stop exhibiting emotion, a group of friends realize that an unseen alien race is replicating humans, one by one, after they fall asleep.
7. Dog Soldiers (2002, R)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, extreme violence & gore, animal death (also, there is a scene where a couple is implied to be preparing to have sex when they are attacked but the violence and sex are not meant to be linked)
Summary: A squad of British Army soldiers discover the gruesome remains of another squad and begin to realize that werewolves may be more than a myth.
8. The Descent (2005, R)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, extreme violence & gore, child death, claustrophobia
Summary: A group of friends go spelunking during a weekend getaway, but become trapped in the claustrophobic cave system, where they are hunted by an unknown force.
9. Ringu (1998, Unrated – I’d give it a PG-13)*
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, child murder, disturbing imagery
Summary: A reporter begins investigating the urban legend of a cursed video tape that kills people a week after they watch it. After watching the fabled video tape, she realizes that the curse if all too real and she has to race against time to solve its mystery and save herself and her son.
*Film is in Japanese.
10. The Ring (2002, PG-13)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, child murder, disturbing imagery
Summary: The same as above. This is a remake, but a well done one.
11. Kairo (2001, R)*
Potential Triggers: Death, body horror, suicide
Summary: A group of young people in Tokyo are devastated when their friend commits suicide. Not long after, they begin witnessing unnerving supernatural phenomena, often involving their computers.
*Film is in Japanese.
12. Gwoemul (2006, R)*
Potential Triggers: Death, blood & gore, child death
Summary: After radioactive waste is dumped into Seoul’s Han River, a horrific, tadpole-like monster emerges and begins wreaking havoc. When his daughter is taken away by the monster, a man and his family go on a mission to save her.
*Film is in Korean.
13. [REC] (2007, R)*
Potential Triggers: Death, blood & gore, child death
Summary: A reporter and her cameraman follow firefighters as they answer an emergency call in an apartment building. Suddenly, they are sealed inside with a contagious disease that transforms people into rabid monsters.
*Movie is in Spanish.
14. Rammbock (2010, R)*
Potential Triggers: Death, blood & gore, drug addiction, stalking
Summary: A man desperate to make up with his girlfriend visits her apartment in Berlin, but quickly becomes trapped inside when a virus spreads through the city and transforms people into homicidal monsters. With the help of a teenager, he tries to use his wits to escape.
*Movie is in German.
15. Pontypool (2008, Unrated - I’d give it an R)
Potential Triggers: Death, violence & gore, suicide
Summary: A radio announcer and his co-workers become trapped in their radio station when a strange virus spreads through their small town, with officials encouraging people not to use the English language.
16. The Orphanage (2007, R)*
Potential Triggers: Death, child death, suicide
Summary: A woman brings her family to her childhood home, which was an orphanage for disabled children. Hoping to reopen it, she becomes frightened when her son makes an invisible friend and strange events begin taking place all over the grounds.
*Movie is in Spanish.
17. The Blair Witch Project (1999, R)
Potential Triggers: Death, mild violence
Summary: Three film students travel to Maryland to make a movie about the legend of an evil witch, but things quickly spiral out of control as they feel haunted by a supernatural force.
18. An American Werewolf in London (1981, R)
Potential Triggers: Death, murder, violence & gore, body horror, discussion of suicide
Summary: Two American students are attacked by a werewolf while backpacking through England. Afterward, one of them begins having terrible dreams and experiencing strange symptoms.

Potential Triggers: Death, murder, violence & gore

Why did the Babadook make me feel super maternal? Like seriously, I felt so bad for the kid throughout and he was pretty adorable despite those screaming fits

The Babadook
I’m so happy they’ve created a horror movie that acurrately displays Depression. Through personification this movie brought to light how depression can affect you and those around you. It’s the little things.

So long as you don’t hear any rumbling or three-sharp-knocking, you’re in the clear.
Soooo I’m sitting here trying to teach my best friend’s baby to say “Babadook” and she just pointed to my closet and started shrieking and laughing hysterically.
Nevermind. Fuck this. Game over.

We understand your plight here at FuckYeahBabadook... The noise is my text tone and I nearly flip my crap each time I hear it because it means my parents are probably mad at me.
Quickest way to scare me and, consequently, get me to hate you forever
play the noise the babadook makes anywhere near me at night

Forgive Me Followers For I Fucked Up
There’s since been another update about progress on the Book but I’ve not yet made a post about it. In the meantime, I can tell you the previews look incredible and I’ll get around to sharing them within the next few days. Once again, I do apologize for dropping the ball on my duties as the blog curator, but I’ve run into some major real-life snarls over the past couple months.
Hopefully I’ll get my shit together in the upcoming weeks.
