i’m fed up, seriously. TFP was not what some people were expecting or what they wanted, but jesus I think the reaction has been ridiculous! TFP is not my favourite episode and season 4 is probably not my favourite series, but I didn’t dislike it, as a matter of fact I thought it was brilliant. What annoys me is that people are saying ‘RIP Sherlock (BBC)’ and ‘Mofftiss killed this fandom, they betrayed us’. No they didn’t, they can choose to do with their own show. I’ve seen comments that people are saying they’re offended by the episode, why?! I don’t get where the offence comes from. The only thing i can think of is the entire Johnlock not Johnlock situation. Putting this out there, i’m a big Johnlock shipper, I wanted them to be together and admit their love for each other and it makes me all giddy inside when they share a look or whatever they do, but they didn’t. Its not canon and guess what? i’m not offended. The fact of the matter is, just because the LGBT community (and many others in fact) are shouting for it, just because people have been watching the show since day one, just because people are loyal fans, just because Mark is gay, doesn’t mean its going to happen! Mofftiss don’t have to make Sherlock and John gay, and just because its not canon, does not make them homophobic or queerbaiters. I think it would have been a great opportunity to make Johnlock real, but alas, it didn’t happen and i’m okay with that.

Sherlock PSA
Hey there, Sherlock fans! Not normally an original-post sort of person, but guess what? I am genuinely upset by the amount of backlash and in-fighting going on right now. This is a show that everyone here has stuck with for YEARS, and because of one episode everyone decides to quit. Sorry, but no. Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss went ahead and said that Johnlock would not happen, there was no “queerbaiting”. Just because you have a certain interpretation of something does not mean it’s true. The creators made THEIR show, and they made it based on what they felt fit with the characters and story they created. THEY ARE NOT “BETRAYING” YOU. Personally, I would have been so much more disappointed if they had made Johnlock canon, as it did not fit with the story they were telling. From the beginning this was a show about FRIENDS. Imagine that, two male friends who love and support each other in a platonic fashion! Do not throw a fit because your fanfictions did not become canon!!!
*I do not oppose Johnlock, nor any other ship! If you want to make art, writing, etc, be my guest! That is EXCELLENT! But don’t get angry because your ship did not make it into the established canon. Fanfiction and fanart is beautiful precisely because it’s NOT canon! It shows immense creativity on the creator’s part, and I am NOT downplaying that aspect! Please just keep in mind that it is an INTERPRETATION, and everyone sees things differently! Thank you if you’ve made it this far, and stay kind.

Um *nervously* hi Tumblr.
Would it be cool if you could reblog this post if you’re a Sherlock blog who enjoyed Series 4, if you don’t fill your tags with negative stuff and isn’t basically taking every opportunity to rip the episode and series apart cos i’ve had a few messages today from people who would love to follow you. Myself included.
We’ll check you out from reblogs and likes! Thank you!

so what if we didn't get johnlock this season? i love johnlock as much as the next dude, but they probably have the most stable relationship since season 1 now and i think that's almost better.
I am a Johnlocker but I’m not disappointed, this is the best relationship ever, they set up to be together and develop.

I’m very sad because judging from the posts on my dash I feel the fandom, or the part of the fandom I feel a part of, is going to change a lot. Many people will probably turn away, disappointed, and I get where this is coming from.
But I will stay, I liked this ep and the last one, and despite all the justified criticism, I still love the show and I am here and not leaving anytime soon -
I also think that Moftiss really let go a fantastic opportunity to make Johnlock more explicit because it is there, very much so, it’s what this is all about, for God’s sakes!

If you tell them and they decide they’d rather not know, you can’t take it back. You can’t unsay it.
