"Who in their right mind would make seminar students do a group project?" Emmy said, by way of greeting, dropping into a seat at the table across from Winona. Winona, who was all hot girl energy and burn the rule book energy. Which had, rumour had it, landed her in some hot water with her department.

At least, Emmy thought uncharitably, she wasn't the only person at this table with a huge-ass burr in her side. "No offense to you, obviously, but who looked at a group of high achieving students with collective groupwork related PTSD and said, 'hey, you know what's a great idea? Let's make all the kids who had to do all the work on the group projects in the history of ever work together when they're adults'?" She pulled her notebook out of her backpack, dropping it on the table with a thunk, "A sociopath, that's who."

Love you too, honey. And we can work on this over ice cream after class today. You'll know the logistics of what this needs better than I will, and I've got the sorority's account books, the dream team rides again.

This is why I love you. If you want any help with the budget and financial proposal let me know, not that you need it. I will absolutely text my friends and see if they want in.

I'll talk nerdy to you any time. I love the idea as a fundraiser, I can pull the budget and financial proposal together easy peasy and let's see if we can get the girls on board. See if you can get your hustler friends to play. Watching men realize they've been beaten by women is my second favourite spectator sport.

I love when you talk math to me. I was thinking sorority affiliated fundraiser. The guys in our department won't play me anymore.

Are we thinking sorority affiliated fundraiser or more "at a bar, play the old guys who think they can beat you" kind of thing? Because I am seeing a low cost for a moderate to high profit fundraiser. House takes 10% of all winnings for the charitable fund. We provide the venue, the equipment, dealers. Pay an entrance fee, scaled, as opposed to a traditional gambling set up to align with university event policy, and voila. Though, you hustling old men is my favourite spectator sport, so my feelings are mixed here.

A poker night would be the best welcome back event for the school! If it got accepted, would anyone want to plan it with me?

I knoooow, I have had both dreams and nightmares about this grad seminar I'm starting this week. But I also had a nightmare that pi didn't exist and we botched the moon landing because of it so we got colonised by martians who looked eerily like Jeff Bezos but talked like Yoda, so maybe dreams aren't the best measure of anything right now. You're taking stochastic financial modelling too, right? Professor Wright has like a million awards for women in mathematics and I don't even care about stochastic models but she makes me wanna care.
