I absolutely love self shippers who are severely mentally ill over their f/os. I dont mean mentally ill in the quirky, "relatable" internet humor way. I mean people who hallucinate their f/os or hear their voices. People who have elaborate delusions. People with severe personality disorders whos f/o is the only thing keeping them from losing it. People who are afraid that if they talk with their therapists about their f/os theyll end up in a mental hospital. We're amazing.

🍷 Telling your fluffy f/o that you think you're a paraphile. Maybe they comfort you by telling you that it's alright. Are they one too? Either way, they reassure you over and over that they love you for you, and not for what you're not. Does this include kisses, cuddles? Or do they take you to dinner or somewhere else special to show you that nothing has changed?

🥩 How about your clueless F/O? Looking at you with an astounded expression, or maybe a bit of disgust, but you're their partner, and they do love you, so they listen as you explain what it is properly without the mix-ups. They're understanding, and are happy that you're so comfortable that you feel okay telling them. They love you for you.

🍷 What about a more hateful one? Your abusive F/O takes the knowledge and runs with it. They understand what it is fully, maybe it even starts with one of the first two, but they don't let you live it down. During arguments they mock you for it, calling you disgusting and perverted, or maybe they say that your attraction to that para makes them feel unwanted, that THEY'RE the victim. Anything to twist you into a knot trying to please them, anything for that extra bit of attention and the assertion that you'll never leave them. But deep down, they don't care. It's just another ploy to make you stay, to break you apart, just another handle. They want you, whether for love or just to break, they don't care about your para.

🥩 No matter what, your F/O wants you for you, not for what you aren't. No matter how they express it, your disorder isn't a big deal to them ; it's just a part of you, and it's okay. Just because some people don't understand your disorder doesn't make you any less perfect for your F/O.
