Being Asian American
I just watched this TedxTalk.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pUtz75lNaw
What it is like being Asian American in America?
This video gives a voice to my thoughts, my feelings, and me myself. It is hard to conform with either identity simply because I’m not on the extreme spectrum of either identities. I’ve been exposed to a variety of cultures, that it hurts me to answer a simple “Japan” when someone asks me where I am from. I do not truly see myself as a Japanese, American, nor Chinese. I encompass a bit of each of these cultures, and a whole lot of being a mixed culture person.
Where will I go with this? I’m uncertain at this moment, but I aspire to bridge the gap between cultures.

Can you imagine Tchaikovsky wrote in dynamic markings for the cannon?
“Um, sir, can you play a true pianissimo? You’re overpowering the orchestra…”

I recently met this guy, who has been on my mind for a while.
No, not in that sense. But he’s been sticking around.
An architect, my friend’s brother, and someone who’s super dedicated to what they love and do. He instantly became my inspiration, role model, and someone that I aspire to be.
It’s weird because I dream to become like him.. act, live, work like him. It’s haunting that I cannot preserve my own version of myself but I’m also glad that I’m painting myself with colorful people.
I have many doubts in my life at this point and I really need a break back home, but this person is keeping my shit together.
Thanks.

From the New World
Antonín Dvořák.
You’ll recognize the 4th movement (link below).
Why is music--especially classical music--so fascinating? It makes me passionate and emotional and.. I just want to pour my whole soul into it when I’m listening and playing. It’s beautiful. You can be sad, happy, angry, confused.. everything you are.
I don’t think it should be underestimated and under-looked in comparison to other activities, such as sports.
It’s such a pleasure to perform these pieces in a great hall (Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre) and I wish my peers their best this week.
There’s a lot more about music that I can talk about. But for now, enjoy this beauty.

[Peoples] Lots of people.
How do I keep track of the influential people in my life? Way too many to do so. It’s fascinating how certain people can change my perspective entirely, encourage me to do something new, and essentially shape my life. I’m a chameleon with the integration of all those who I’ve encountered.
That’s crazy.

Hi. I’m a 17 y/o human being.
I am 17 and constantly looking for things. Things that will interest me, whether it is in the present or the future. Preferably both. Something that I can enjoy and make a living. Maybe, I think that’s architecture. Maybe. It’s still March of Junior year. Let’s see how everything rolls.
