i'm so tired of the yaoi-ification of mlm ships where people feel the need to make one of them (usually the fandom-assigned bottom) into a teeny tiny waifish twink and the other into a huge musclebound super aggro guy (usually the fandom-assigned top) i know this is like a thing many people have been saying for years but i just feel like it has never actually gotten better in fandom spaces. the fatphobia of it, the gender essentialism, the homophobia, it's all so fucking annoying it makes me want to scream

My child is dying in my arms.. and I'm powerless to save him 🍉🍉💔

How does a father write an obituary for his son while he's still in his arms? How can I describe the feeling of helplessness as I watch my child suffocate, tremble, and groan in pain, and I can do nothing but cry?

Mohammed, my soul, my heartbeat, faces death right in front of me. He looks at me with eyes filled with pain, as if asking, "Dad, why don't you save me?" And I have no answer. I have nothing but my tears falling down his little face, as if they're an apology for not being a father capable of protecting him.

My son is dying, and his days are slipping away from me like water through my fingers. He suffers from severe lung infections, and his small body can't take any more. The doctors told me in cold voices, "The only solution is urgent surgery, or else...!" They didn't finish their sentence, but I heard it all in their deadly silence.

But how can I save him when I can't afford a life? How can I accept that money be the barrier between me and seeing my child grow up? The amount demanded is huge, and I stand before it, penniless except for my hope in God and my supplications to you.

I am not asking for help, I am asking for life... a life for my child before he departs... before I bury him, knowing I did not do enough to save him.

Please... do not let him die... do not leave me to carry his shroud and carry him to his grave, knowing I could have saved him had a merciful hand reached out to me.

Any support, any assistance, even if it is simply sharing this appeal, could be the difference between life and death... it could be the miracle by which I save my child from the death that creeps closer to him every minute.

Thinking about Shadowheart again and the lost potential of her faith-based plotline. Imagine living your whole life based around these rituals and suddenly having to let go of them? Like most clerics, she probably has daily rituals, prayer in the morning and night, cleaning her vestments in a certain way, and unlike priests in the real world, these have tangible and immediate effects of giving her powers and keeping her safe. So imagine, wearing armor and being forced bare. Imagine no longer hearing the voice of god. Not only are you a lost lamb, the shepherd and her flock want to kill you. Aaaaaaaaaaaaah i'm just ugh this could have been such an amazing plotline

I've been seeing artists draw Minthara in fashion clothes so I wanted to do it too but make it Filipino. Filipininas and Barongs are traditionally constructed from piña or piña fiber blends with beautifully intricate embroidery. Growing up, it oddly made me think of spiderwebs so I had to do it. Plus Minthara's glare rivals that of your Tita Tess judging you at the party for getting another tattoo >:)

I was inspired by @/marcheriest ‘s bg3 redesigns and their drawings of shaved head Shadowheart and the phenomenal fic “Back to Shar” on ao3

Just imagine the cloister confrontation but Shadowheart actually voices some sorrow for the Sharrans and wonders why they came to Shar. To wonder what it was like to actually have a choice.

She might not remember them but she recognizes herself in them. How easily she could’ve been another faceless servant in their ranks

As for the ‘cutting off her hand’ thing, I think it would be most fitting for it to take place during her choice to rescue or kill her parents. She cuts off her hand both has a huge middle finger to Shar and also to metaphorically and literally sever herself from Shar. Bonus if she does it with a shard of glass from one of those dark mirrors

I haven’t played the original games so I can’t say much on Viconia, but I am curious as to how you would rewrite her and Shadowheart’s relationship

i am of the camp that dislikes how Larian reduced Viconia DeVir's complex character into an evil stepmother stereotype whose only purpose is to be sacrificed on the altar of Shart's questline. A lot of people have gone on about how it's an insult to Viconia, but I wanna point out how it's an insult to Shart as well. Shart's story could have been uniquely about religious trauma — tackling that ambiguous border between faith/trust in community and blind dogmatic zealotry.

It's wild that the wizard had a better character arc questioning his faith and his relationship to the gods than the cleric, and the fighter had better self-reflection on dogmatic thinking and life-long indoctrination. Does Shart ever examine why people willingly turn to Shar in the first place? No, she doesn't have to, because she was tricked into becoming a Sharran. Her endgame conclusions never go beyond "Viconia bad actually" or "Shar bad actually."

We get to conveniently blame Shart's pain and trauma on one person (and maybe one god) — so crisis of faith averted! She still believes in religious institutions, as long as they have a light color scheme instead of a dark one. In the end, it's just another "I get vengeance by beating up the person in power who abused me" boss fight that two other companions already have.

so i noticed when playing the epilogue that illithid Tav wants to eat brains, but the specific part of the brain they want to eat depends on the character, so i looked through the parsed dialogue and compiled all of them!

which part of each brain a mindflayer Tav would savor:

Astarion: "Astarion's sweet brain may be less wrinkled than the rest, but you hunger for its teasing cells. His parietal lobe - which controls his sense of touch - will be an aphrodisiac in your maw."

Gale*: "You would save his temporal lobe for last, if you were to eat Gale. Language. Learning. Memory. He must have quite the fine example."

Halsin: "Every time Halsin speaks of balance, your thoughts cannot behave. You only dream of what his cerebellum tastes like, when it sends the signals to his vestibular system to keep him from wobbling."

Jaheira: "Weary Jaheira. Over time, her stresses may have shrunk her hippocampus, making its taste more intense."

Karlach: "You consider Karlach's brain stem - the stalk meant to regulate her body's temperature. Will it come pre-cooked?"

Lae'zel*: "Lae'zel's motor cortex - that which controls her fine movements - will be harshly disciplined. That will make her especially chewy - just how you like a cortex to be."

Minsc: "There are cruel rumours spread, that Minsc may once have suffered injury to his brain. You could set the slander right at last - tell the world every bite was perfect."

Minthara: "With all Minthara's hate, you wonder if her cerebro-spinal fluid will be bitter to sip?"

Shadowheart: "Think of Shadowheart's cerebellum, which controls her dextrous hands. Any ritual caster must have a tightly commanded hindbrain."

Wyll: "Wyll's frontal lobe, which processes his judgement and measured words, would be a delicacy befitting his nobility." (Or "fit for a Grand Duke" if that was his outcome.)

(*You can't eat god-Gale's or astral-projection-Lae'zel's brains.)

I respect all your inter-companion romance ships, and I hope they bring you joy and endless inspiration, but I have a primal need for something different. I don't need my companions dating each other.

I need them to be the most dysfunctional yet supportive found family they can be

I need Karlach to be literal 'Mama K' and grab Shadowheart and Lae'zel by the scruff and put them on coat hangers, telling them that if they can't say anything nice, then shut the fuck up for five minutes and if they can do that, then she'll come and let them down

I need Astarion and Gale to get into such a spat that all dignity and posh goes out the fucking window, and they devolve into two grown-ass men having a 13-year-old style slap fight while calling each other the harshest of obscenities, but if anyone from the outside tries calling either of them less than fabulous, they join forces and fuck them up

I need Wyll, Shadowheart, and Lae'zel to do each other's hair while discussing all the ways they've taken down various opponents and monsters, and how they would have done things better

I need Jaheira just smacking everyone upside the head whenever they say or do something stupid. Because gods dammit why is she always the only one who can see trouble from a hundred miles away, only to have her perception check fail and stumble right into a trap Halsin had set up to catch food for dinner

I need Astarion to embroider offensive cross stitch into every other companion's tents when he's left behind at camp, for no other reason than he's feeling salty that day

I need Halsin to wildshape into a bear just so he can surprise Karlach with an actual bear and Clive having a tea party with flower crowns and drawings of the horrible ways Gortash will be killed

I need Shadowheart being a petty bitch and letting anyone who was being especially stupid in a fight get a little too close to death as punishment before finally healing them. Because that's just what healers do

I need Gale pranking people with his spells. Use mage hand to yank the rug out from under Lae'zel after she insisted that he was too squishy to fight properly. Casting 'create water' over Shadowheart to ruin her makeup in retaliation for saying last night's stew was a bit bland. Use Telekinesis to fling Astarion off in some random direction because dammit Gale just woke up, and the man needs his coffee before he can properly deal with all of that first thing in the damn morning

I need Lae'zel to take pillow fights just a little too seriously

I need Wyll begging Halsin and Jaheira if they can wildshape into a bear and a shark just so he can ride both of them through the Chionthar while recklessly casting Fireball and Lightning Bolt at the sky, because just think of how cool he would look doing it
