hijikata who puts shinsengumi over anything including his own happiness. hijikata who chose shinsengumi over his first love that shared a weird taste in food chose to follow his new love with a shared weird taste in food instead of staying with the shinsengumi. for once he put his own wishes first and that wish was gintoki. he spent two years searching for one man and he was going spend more if he needed to just to bring him home... even in bfy its hijikata who investigated into gintokis disappearance to figure out what happened to him... he was always meant to be the one to go on this quest for his beloved... with his bad tsundere act that its just to repay a favor as if that is enough for a person like himself to put aside his precious duty just to reunite a man with his family he holds dear. a family that now hijikata himself is part of even if he hasnt realized or accepted it yet. they have all the time in the world now to finally share that promised reunion drink back home where they both belong together

I think about this manga literally once a week because I think it's akin to something Sorachi would write, so I'm sharing a translation here!
