9th USA Summer Music Festival - FreshGrass

The FreshGrass Music Festival, taking place over three days in North Adams in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts, is a showcase of both contemporary and traditional bluegrass and roots music. FreshGrass is family-friendly and brimming with the brightest talent not just on our four stages, but also in our galleries, brick-lined courtyards, and grassy fields.

MASS MoCA is hosting the three day FreshGrass festival on September 20-22, 2019, and artists like Greensky Bluegrass, Mavis Staples, The Travelin’ McCourys, Alison Brown, Jade Bird, and more will perform on one of the four stages on the museum grounds in North Adams, Massachusetts.

From the pool of submissions, FreshGrass organizers invite three finalists to compete for the FreshGrass Band Award. On the festival weekend, the finalists travel to North Adams and perform in front of a jury and a large live audience. The jury will select a runner-up and winner, and they will be announced on Sunday afternoon from the main stage. Prizes for the winners include recording time at Nashville’s Compass Records and up to $25,000 in cash prizes.
