INTRODUCING MY NEWEST PROJECT: CUPID’S ARROWS.

so, you may have seen some crypticish posts from me, teasing something big things in the future, asking for beta readers, etc etc. well, i’m proud to say that it’s come to the point where i can talk about it. part of it, at least. as many of you know, my last multi-chapter project was address me, your majesty, which was finished over a year ago. it’s time for something new!

this was supposed to be an event for valentine’s day, where i posted 14 fics of 14 different ships, starting at the beginning of the month and leading to to the holiday. little did i know, i would somehow fail to realize that writing 14 fics in one month is not humanly possible.

so, here’s the rundown. i currently have the first fic done, and i’ll be uploading it tomorrow. for the rest of however long it takes, i’ll be posting the other thirteen fics. each one features a pair assigned to a random prompt from this list.

this has been in the works for a few months now and despite not getting as much done after making this way more ambitious than i need it to be, i really am proud of the result. hope you all enjoy it as much as i do :)

my pet rupolo au is they’re childhood friends, ruben moves down the street from polo when they’re super young and they’re just yknow. rupolo.

ruben moves away when he’s like 12 and even though its tough for them they maintain a pretty close friendship all things considered, like if you asked they’d still call each other their best friend

until rubens dad makes him break off the friendship a couple years later (he’s very much a ‘man’s man’ and wants ruben to be the same. he was willing to give ruben some grace about his best friend being a girl when he was little, but now he feels its time for ruben to grow up and be a man.) and they’re both absolutely DEVESTATED.

they’re both really lost without the other at first-ruben’s super angry all the time and polo just like doesn’t care about anything, but they make it. ruben starts hanging out with cherry/tyler/lauren/april and throws himself headfirst into his art-he’s at school all the time bc he just hates being home.

polo realizes he’s polo, realizes he wants to be an archaeologist, and manages to keep his friendships with epsilon, t-bam, and zoey. he’s got something to work towards now, and thanks to the help of his strange as heck history teacher cygnus, he gets into a great school.

polo and epsilon move to university together, and polo meets this film major unai in one of his classes. the two hit it off, and unai invites polo over to watch a film for class (he brought a tv to university he’s that guy)

and like halfway through the film

unai’s roommate comes home

and he looks awfully familiar

i think he’s pretty similar to gray in personality, a lil more unhinged but he’s generally pretty laid back

do not fret!! i will do both!!

abigail!! absolute vibe who deserves to eat all the quartz she wants. her character’s so compelling, you walk away from sdv rooting for her-i know i am 🦇 hcs below!!

i think she definitely has some wizard powers she either 1.) hasn’t tapped into yet or 2.) appear when she’s in mortal danger and she hasn’t tapped into them beyond that. unlike emily’s magic, hers takes on a darker tone. not evil, just darker. she doesn’t exactly know how to feel about it.

LOVES BATS 🦇 i mean, loves all creepy things but especially bats

i think she’d be a killer dnd dungeon master ✨

i think she’d be rather fond of jas and almost see her like a little sister. jas is an only child and the adults in her house are mostly preoccupied with their own stuff-abigail can relate

now for polo :)

polo!! i’m extremely normal about him (i am lying). love his whole vibe and mood and danger! high voltage! always HIT. i have many hcs about him but i’ll try to keep it brief 🌻

he and epsilon are frequently at the arcade geeking out about the oldest machines-i hc epsilon as being very interested in tech/machinery, and polo just loves old arcade games like SO much 👾

he’s transmasc bc i’m transmasc and i like him 🗣️

i have many ruben/polo meeting scenarios but the common thread in all of them is that the meeting feels like coming home :)

if it’s something he’s interested in, polo has laser focus-the world around him disappears. something he isn’t interested in? that focus just goes away and it’s a struggle to pay attention. this was an insecurity of his for the longest time

loves to infodump. loves it so much. nothing makes him happier than having someone actively listen while he does so. also a great listener when someone infodumps to him-he knows how it feels to be brushed off and never wants to do that to someone else.

i like to think that epsilon/polo moved to college together as did ruben/unai, and the next year epsilon/unai moved in together as did ruben/polo. before they lived together ruben and polo were constantlyyyy leaving stuff at the other’s place.

in a world where cygnus doesn’t do night swan stuff and instead becomes an archeology professor/history teacher, i like to think he mentors polo. he’s got an odd mentorship style, but the care between them is very real. adding onto this i also hc cygnus as transmasc so polo looks up to him there too :)

i have many hcs abt him but just a few:

loves reading!! loves it so much. i think he’d be a creative nonfiction connoisseur with just like a touch of the most saccharine romance stories. a sucker for a happy ending ✨

i think he feels a sense of protectiveness for the other three and his worst fear would be something happening to them. he just loves them a whole lot ✨

he’s a chef change my mind 👨‍🍳 started in the kitchen before becoming a manager-he was the servers’ favorite person to ask for things bc he had a very calming energy.

mothigan!! i absolutely love her aesthetic and the visuals of good ones and cure for me. love the crypt. want to go to there. butterfly queen 🦋

for a hc, she and bonnie (telephone runaway version) were like sisters when bonnie was little, and although mothigan moved away when bonnie was like REALLY young she credits a lot of her confidence to mothigan’s influence.

also i think she’d just be very sweet and finds a lot of beauty in the macabre ✨
