What up motherfuckers I made a mashup

Ok I did this using a video editing software so it's not exactly professional level and it has zero transitions. But! The Mind Electric and The Soul Eclectic have either the same or a similar bpm so I fucked around and now I have this. Would've added The Heart Acoustic but it's too slow and I couldn't speed it up to where I wanted it so here we are. It works better this way anyway.

another thing i've been thinking about is like. i feel like some people think gluing your eyes to all of the world's tragedies is some sort of test of moral purity. which i feel like is an odd line of thought. i dont think you're a bad person for tuning out of the news cycle for a bit to focus on yourself and your own help.

i've seen people say truly vile things towards those who've expressed similar sentiments, that you dont have to do social media activism by reblogging posts about wars and genocides and tragedies. at a certain point you've exposed yourself to so much suffering of others that you get desensitized to it, you just reblog it or scroll through it out of routine, out of a desire to feel like you're a good person who is doing something and to avoid being "morally bad" by not engaging, rather than to actually help others. even those with good intentions fall into this trap.

so take this as your permission or whatever. if you think its hurting you, curate your experience. block tags about things you dont have the mental energy to deal with. it doesn't make you a bad person. you aren't a worse person for not wanting to look at the pain in the world for a little bit. sometimes you have your own shit to deal with. sometimes you're just tired. or maybe you just know that it wont help anyone and that subjecting yourself to this as a purity test is actually kind of dumb. who knows.
