She lived her life pretty normally, in Northern Virginia. She was popular in high school. She was smart and funny and one of the cheerleaders. She was living the teenage dream, and she knew it. She wasn't about to take it for granted, either. All the while, her twin brother remained her closest and best friend. She knew she relied on him for survival. And then, things started getting weird for him. He came home from a run and said he'd been attacked by some kind of animal, but when he tried to show her his wounds, there were none. A few weeks passed, and the full moon rose. It took over Martin's mind, making him into... something. She'd heard her brother thrashing about in his bedroom, and she went to make sure he was okay. She knocked softly, and opened the door, finding her brother, but he wasn't quite her brother. He was something else, almost monstrous, staring at her with his glowing, golden eyes. He scared her. And he knew that. And her fear, the thought of his very own twin sister looking at her like she was afraid he'd rip her head off calmed him down. He was able to think. The next day, she started her research. As crazy as it seemed, it honestly felt like her brother was a werewolf. Once she'd accepted this as fact, doors started opening for her.
