Ghetto Golfer... Fore!!

I haven’t bored anyone in ages (I think!! 🧐), but I have been really busy, getting out and about and living life!!

Recently I tried at honing my sporting prowess (note: this is riddled with sarcasm, as is any reference to my having any interest or history with enjoying any sport).

Ghetto Golf located in the Baltic Triangle sector of Liverpool and is an acceptable way to play crazy golf past the age of 14. Replace windmill scenes and green turf for haunted rooms and psychedelic artwork; Ghetto Golf is an evening out with all the childhood fun of Crazy Golf with a twist!

We had such a good time for a friends birthday, drinking cocktails and needing about 25 tries before I eventually got the ball in each hole! The staff who walk round offering to bring you drinks make this even harder to do, but that’s what makes the whole thing so funny. I loved it all, the game, the drinks and decor (not so much the toilet you have to retrieve your ball from on one of the holes... VOM)... and I can’t wait to go again!

Before we made it over to Ghetto Golf; we booked in for Punk Afternoon Tea at The Baltic Social, which is directly over the road from Ghetto Golf. This was amazing!! Lamb Koftas, sausage butties, little burgers, scones and the list delicious cakes! Sprinkled with Haribos, Starburst and popcorn. As this afternoon is tea was ‘punk’, we swerved the PG Tips and instead had a cocktail in the our teapots, Gin Fizz for me!! The music and atmosphere was amazing, and it was the perfect start to our night! Check out the pics!!

Second blog here I come!!

So on Friday it was Macmillans Big Coffee Morning. We had been doing different things in work over the last few weeks to raise money for this wonderful charity. 1 in 3 people are affected by cancer, so every little really does help.

This year I went to a Macmillan Coffee DAY at the wonder beauty salon I have been going to for a number of years now... Beauty and Co.

The history of my time at this salon started out with utter panic! I had gone to have party lashes at a different salon for my weekend at V Festival. When I woke up the following morning my eyes would barely open at all and were VERY swollen!!

OMG... I was devastated and I had to be on the road in 2 hours time. Knowing I would struggle to get in anywhere so last minute, I racked my brains for anywhere that could help me... everywhere was booked up. THEN!!! I remembered this pink and blue little place on Woodlands Road. One google search later, I rang up and, (hallelujah!!!) I was booked in for a lash removal.

I was met by SUCH a welcoming, smiley and relaxing girl. From the moment I arrived, she put me at ease, which considering my situation was very hard! Within minutes the lashes were off and I was free!!! Yes!! I was so so so relieved and decided there that when I was back from V, I would book in for my nails done, as the vibe of the place was fantastic.

That was 7 years ago now, and I still go every 2 weeks for my nails and everything else in between. One of the things I've generally always found with beauty salons is that the beauticians can, on occasion, be a little standoffish and cold. The girls in Beauty and Co could NOT be further from this description. They are friendly, funny, chatty and so so welcoming, whilst always remaining professional and knowledgeable.

In my opinion, when going to get a beauty treatment you look for 2 things ... firstly: a great service with a quality result and secondly: to feel special. I want to walk away from a treatment feeling pampered and special... well, you walk away from Beauty and Co feeling like a friend, which couldn't be more special =).

The coffee day that the salon put on is a shining example of what this salon is; warm, welcoming, professional with quality products (white chocolate and toffee cheesecake - YUM!!!)

So I thought for my first blog I would use it to talk about what inspired me to do this. I love blogs... I love hearing peoples opinions, even if they differ from mine, I love to see what people are doing in the world, and if I'd like to do it too. I love to learn new life style tips, restaurants to try, clothes to buy, memes to laugh at and say, "omg that is soooo me!!". I just love it.

And so, imagine my joy, when a couple of weekends ago one of my ALL TIME FAVE bloggers had an opening event for their new shop... Scouse Bird. Scouse Bird to me is everything a blog should be. Number one; she is hilarious (her 10 things you know if you go to slimming world is pure LOL). She is informative, she is sassy, she is honest, she writes well and she really keeps in touch and on the pulse of all her followers. If Scouse Bird likes something, I know I will too, and that I can trust her opinion, and that is what I love from a blogger.

So!!! When I arrived at the Scouse Bird Shop I found myself actually giddy. In my eyes she is a celeb, and OMG I am going to meet her #BeCool. The first thing I saw was the sign on the side of the road, there, was Scouse Birds grid in all it's glory. It's worth mentioning that this might not always have been possible, as she used to be anonymous (something I will steal from her), but at that moment I was thrilled she had "come out".

A lovely man then led us up to the Scouse Bird shop... I heard it before I saw it... "All the Single Ladies" - blasting down the corridors... YESSSSSS, this was Scouse Bird all over, I was already not at all disappointed! Then there it was, massive silver balloons spelling out "Scouse Bird" and a meeter and greeter handing out red wines, Prosecco, jelly beans and THE nicest cupcakes I have EVER tried.

I then got in the shop. It was all there, everything I had ever seen her mention in her blog, and I could buy it ALL (and I nearly did, see attached pics!) In utter Scouse Bird style, you have the option of taking a selfie in front of her selfie wall, uploading it to social media with your location and getting 10% off (obvs I did this, but couldn't stand having my ugly mug on here... the horror).

THEN I saw her!!! Like I've said, she is a celeb in my eyes, and just couldn't believe she was here, running a shop and ringing up everyone's orders. Corrie? TOWIE? Chelsea? I couldn't care less about any of those stars... But Scouse Bird Blogs is pure GOALS. We passed pleasantries while I tried to act totes not phased as she scanned my buys, and I didn't act bothered when she said she liked my name (I died), and then I casually left... I got in my car happy as KEN, eating a cupcake and feeling proper proper Scouse :)
