The New Normal; Another Lockdown Extension
Months passed, nothing changed. The CoVid cases continue to rise, people still needs to wear masks and faceshields when going out, social distancing must still be maintained, and children and senior citizens are still not allowed to go out. I kept on thinking, will this be the new normal? I was already feeling hopeless upon seeing news about the continuous rising of the cases in the country. Another thing that made me a lot worried is the new strain of the virus. Even though I am already feeling hopeless, I still pray and trust God’s timing. I know for sure that one day, we can all go outside without having to worry about the virus. Everything will go back to the old normal wherein we will not be afraid to hug each other. What we should do is to pray, follow the health protocols, and make ourselves healthy.

Trying Something New; The Extension of the Nationwide Lockdown
The first few months of my quarantine period was very easy for me, especially because I am very much used to staying at home already. There are a lot of Facebook posts I see about something new to try while in the middle of the pandemic. I tried almost everything I see. The first one is the Dalgona Coffee wherein you’ll have to put together a little bit of coffee with hot water then mix it thoroughly. Another one I saw is how to make a peach mango pie like the ones we buy in fast food chains. It is made out of bread with a sliced peach and mango as fillings. Moreover, I also tried other activities such as working out every morning, editing pictures or videos, and even training my dog. These are the activities which I do not usually do before quarantine. This quarantine period made me even closer to my family. Before, we barely have time to bond with each other due to a busy schedule. We only have time to talk during dinner. But now, I have all the time to bond with them. This is one of the good things that happened during the pandemic. I also have more time to make myself physically fit and healthy because of having more time and less stress.

The Start of the Novel Corona Virus
It was afternoon of March 8, 2020 when I heard the announcement that there will be a one week suspension of classes due to the Novel Corona Virus. At first, I got so excited because finally I have more time to play mobile games and sleep. But after that week, there was another announcement that there will be no more classes for the remaining days of the school year 2019-2020. It was supposed to be our finals week that time but it was cancelled due to the increasing number of the NCOV cases. Instead, the teachers just sent us additional requirements so that our grades won’t be affected. I was not really affected with what’s happening around me at that time because I thought that everything will go back to normal after a few weeks. However, the government announced that there will be a strict implementation of lockdown in the whole Philippines. A lot of militaries, policemen, and barangay officials were deployed all over the country. They were assigned to look after a particular location. Because of this, people will be needing a quarantine pass just so they can get through the checkpoint per barangay. One person per house will only be allowed to go out and buy food and other necessities. Minors and Seniors were strictly prohibited to go outside so we just stayed at home. For me, quarantine life is just easy. I just wake up, eat, then sleep again and just repeat the same cycle each day. This is what I normally do on weekends before the quarantine started. I did not got worried about what might happen because I know that this wouldn’t take too long. I kept on thinking that after a few weeks, the pandemic will be gone and everything will go back to normal.
