Data Xion. Maybe my favorite boss of the 13. She’s very aggressive, and borrows many of Sora’s classic moves like Arcanum and Strike Raid. She also introduces the unique mechanic where bosses can shave off your HP bar which is totally fair! I wanted to depict this bit, where the backdrops turns into a sunset (resembling Twilight Town) and she bombards you with light magic. There’s a lot Guarding involved here, so I put Sora in a low defensive stance bracing for impact.

The Kingdom Hearts 2FM secret ending is the greatest four minute sequence in the franchise. She had everything. A cool action sequence, mysterious new characters, fuel for absolutely insane speculation, an incomparable musical composition by Yoko Shimomura, and of course.

I love the wayfinder trio because they're like I'm not a ghost but I am haunting the footsteps of the younger generation. I'm not a ghost but I did lose everything to sudden calamity that threw me into isolation. I'm not not a ghost but I did suffer a mortal wound and wake up in a new world with no sense of my previous self. I'm not a ghost but I did give up my chance at survival and embrace the unfeeling void as I spun, untethered, through time and thought. I'm not a ghost but I lived on only by clinging tight to objects that gave me purpose, tying my spirit to a single goal with the fleeting strength I had left. I'm not a ghost but the world has moved on without me and I no longer know my place in it.
