Kana Arima deserved better. She needs her own manga series by a different writer.
I have no regrets buying the vol11 collector edition because she’s gorgeous on the cover, or the art book because the art is very pretty.
But man, this sucked so hard it makes me feel better as a writer.

oh my god it’s laika day everyone drop what you’re doing… we honour a little dog who was sent up into space 65 years ago today. she was found as a three year old stray mongrel wandering the streets of moscow. her ability to endure hardy conditions got her chosen as the candidate for a journey she was never meant to survive. she passed away seven hours after liftoff. I hope she died dreaming of chasing rabbits up in the stars I love u laika forever and ever

i kinda wanted to say oshi no ko stayed mid from after the first volume which was fantastic to this point in time,
but i can't even do that. it got so bad only my undying love for Arima Kana and the Goro/Sarina dynamic is what pushed me to even read new chapters.
thanks heavens i don't have to do that for much longer now.

Short fall season animes thoughts
because I'm still not able to do full reviews. And I'm very not up to date.
Dandadan: that was one fucking weird first episode.
Kabushiki Gaisha Magi Lumiere: a lot more enjoyable than I thought, actually! A pretty new concept for Magical girls, both opening and ending are pretty good, and the execution is interesting.
Sword Art Online Gun Gale Online 2nd season: after binging the first season in one day, I'm also eating that one up. I missed Llenn-chan!! I can't wait to see more!!
Mahoutsukai ni Narenakatta Onnanoko no Hanashi: yes i had to paste the title from anilist. But!! It's worth checking out at least for the artstyle and colors. It's so soft and pastel, it's the reason I got into it in the first place, and then I came to like the characters and the plot that seems to be unfolding.
Fairy Tail 100 years Quest: welp I'm 15 again.
Goukon ni Ittara Onna ga Inakatta Hanashi: the first episode was a lot more well done than the trailer and concept showed first. I gotta watch more of it!
Kamonohashi Ron no Kindan Suiri 2nd Season: still mid.
Sengoku Youko: Senma Konton-hen: STILL A BANGER IN EVERY ASPECTS!!! MORE PEOPLE SHOULD WATCH IT!!! I JUST WANT MORE!!
that's it.

NIJIYON ANIMATION 2 ep#7; short review
This was a simple but cute episode.
Lanzhu notices Shizuku being depressed by the window and comes up to her. Shizuku says she failed an audition but says she isn't too angry or affected by it.
Lanzhu decides crepes is the thing to do right now, and drags her behind, getting crepes, and taking her to the ocean.
Turns out she was following a manual on how to cheer up a friend which Shizuku noticed. Of all of Lanzhu's attempts, seeing that is probably what cheered Shizuku up the most.
She then proceeds to scream her true feelings at the sea, revealing she was actually very frustrated with losing the audition, and that she loves Lanzhu!
Lanzhu is very happy about it.
Once again, a very simple episode, but it was very adorable.
Lastly,
She isn't wrong.

Shuumatsu Train doko e iku?/Train to the end of the world ep#7-8; short review
Woops I'm late to the party. First we fight zombies, secondly.... I have thoughts on episode 8.
Episode 7 continues with the zombie thingy.
A pretty calm episode compared to what this anime has given before, but still a good one, though I don't have much to say... except for the end.
It's obvious the "queen of zombies" definitely isn't one. She puts our four girls through the test and we keep learning about our characters like this actually, like how Nadeko is very good at video games.
Turns out Queen of zombies became such because the zombies were the only ones left who waited for her. I felt touched, tbh. But more importantly, we get the gist something is wrong in Ikebukuro.
Which is confirmed in episode 8.
This episode was a ROLLERCOASTER.
It starts off in an incredibly silly way, with the girls passing through a station that gives them THE ITCH. THE CRAZY ITCH. And then it suddenly transitioned into a much creepier looking station.
Like, wow, just wow. The change of atmosphere gave me chills. The girls (and the dog) get hit then by the memory of their biggest regret. It went by pretty fast so I had to come back and pause to understand.
For Akira and Reimi, it seems both linked to... someone's death/disappearance? One that Akira has let happen, one that Reimi has caused? Very curious to see if they expand on it later on.
Nadeko's one is much clearer and kind of hurt me. She regretted not stopping her parents' fighting and asks her dad to come back... Which comes back later in the episode.
Doggie...? What happened to you :(
And of course, for Shizuru...
Her argument with Yoka.
And then the opening plays. This whole episode introduction was a rollercoaster.
-rewatches the opening because it's a banger-
The girls start rambling about NeriAli, which is what the next station is about. Shizuru is going through a guidebook about every type of characters they can encounter in NeriAli. It's apparently a series Yoka used to love and ramble about to Shizuru.
When they arrive there, it's pretty different from what they're expecting. It seems the bad boss Chaos has taken reign, won against the heroes who have died, and the Walkers are pretty against them going to Ikebukuro for some reason...
Thanks to their knowledge of the series, they manage to find a hidden club of resistance, elaborate a plan to bring the heroes back. Sadly the plan fails and the heroes die definitely.
When lecturing the Darkizumites, Nadeko says this line:
And is reminded of her own issue with her not stopping her parents' fighting, giving herself good advice on purpose. She ends up wearing the hero Alice's outfit due to her brave attitude.
The other girls are also dressed up as the other heroes, and beat the enemies thanks to.... shogi rules, Akira noticing the patterns and remembering how to beat them. They defeat everyone, and then the Chaos boss joins them.
That's the interesting part. The boss tells them he can't let them go to Ikebukuro, because the Queen witch has ordered him so.
Who turns out to be... Yoka, their missing friend.
After leaving the Darkizumites to fend for themselves, the girls leave again on their train wondering how the settings of NeriAli were tampered with, and worried about these news regarding Yoka's whereabouts.
This episode went really fast, but it was great. The first minute doesn't tell you at all what you're getting into, and it finally drops the bomb on Yoka's actions after some quite good character action from Nadeko.
Can't wait for next Monday!
-rewatches the ending because that one is a banger too-

Spice and Wolf: MERCHANT MEETS THE WISE WOLF ep#7; short review
Actually it has been a hot week since I watched the episode itself, but I still have some feelings.
My feelings for Holo, first things first.
She is adorable I lover her so much.
On a more serious note, this episode is a bit more. Holo and Lawrence have such a cute dynamic, though Holo does truly get what she wants from Lawrence, which is... food.
Thanks to her wise wolf ways, she manages to get Lawrence a great deal, exchanging pepper against armor. Holo notices indeed the table was tilted, pushing the balance in favor of the seller, who immediately freaks out at the idea of these two making his deal public.
Back at their inn, there is this sweet scene. Lawrence cannot admit outwardly that he appreciates traveling with Holo, so he tells her he should pay her back by the time they reach the Northern forests, expressing that the debt doesn't have a deadline.
The way she clings to him. Gah, they make me insane.
On their travel, they hear of a rumor about a sorcerer. Turns out the said sorcerer is simply a shepherd, someone Lawrence uses proper etiquette with it seems, who has a dog and sheeps.
It is, also, Holo's most hated type of humans.
See you next week!

Kuroshitsuji: Kishuku Gakkou-hen/Black Butler: Public School Arc ep#5; short review
Cricket game is coming, and with it, Ciel's chance to meet the Headmaster. That is, only if he manages to be one hell of a player (lol).
Kuroshitsuji has always been a very fun watch/read for me due to the presence of humoristic moments over the course of episodes and the dramatic interactions between characters.
We start with the Purple House's building on fire, which makes us realize not only Derrick but the other students supposed to be holed up in there are actually missing truly. The suspicion grows about the Purple House and especially regarding Violet himself, who refuses the help from the other Houses. After Soma calls him out, Violet finally accepts it and the fire is taken care of. But Ciel now has no leads about the missing students, except that he must meet the Headmaster.
A chance appears: if he manages to be an outstanding player athe Cricket game on the 4th of June, he could be chosen to attend one of these midnight tea parties held by the Headmaster. The criteria being seemingly random, both he and Sebastian will have to ensure both Blue House's victory and Ciel's accomplishment as a gentleman of Weston College to ensure he is chosen.
Kudos to Ciel's acting once again. He's so silly. Him and Sebastien plotting together is extremely funny. He goes from this:
to anime girl pose in 0.2 seconds:
I totally believe he is very motivated by a game of cricket.
Follows the opening ceremony for the game, with Lizzie and her parents being there. Each team is introduced in the most dramatic way, except for Blue House who's just... kinda there, as the loser each year.
Outside of the funny shenanigans, as in Lizzie cheering for Ciel more than for her brother, Ciel running away from Druitt, Violet's successful rendition of Lawrence being surrounded by his sisters, and the Lower Master once again kissing the floor in bloody fashion, Lizzie's mother of course immediately recognizes Sebastian.
I love him your honor.
Of course, this makes her understand that Ciel is here on Business (and makes Ciel realize Edward absolutely didn't recognize Sebastian).
Cut to Lizzie's father recounting the only time the Blue House won the cricket game... and their prefect at the time being:
Ciel's father, Vincent Phantomhive.
More lore, yay! Overall a great episode with peak comedy timing coupled with plot progression. I can't complain about anything this season, I'm fed on every levels. It has been a few years since I've read this arc in the manga so I look forward to relive it.
This review isn't short, sorry I lied. I'm simply one hell of a rambler.

You know those "if this gets 50k notes I'll xyz"? I don't believe in those. Because I could say something crazy like: if this gets 20k notes, I'll write my next book. And then it'll get zero notes. I do not believe.

I'm actually very late on the Jellyfish can't swim in the night anime.... I've only watched two episodes. Maybe I'll try to catch up to it during the weekend and also watch Hananoi-kun anime's latest episode, if I can get out of my To Aru fixation.....

URUSEI YATSURA 2022 2nd season ep#16; short review
We continue with the Ryunosuke incident.
While I love my girl Lum more than anything (please don't look at the figure I bought last week), the anime has been focusing on other characters for the past couple of episodes, and it's pretty nice to give them a chance to shine as well as some sort of closure (?) for their romance arc.
Nagisa is definitely made for Ryunosuke in a hilarious way, and the fact he's stronger than her is bound to make Ryunosuke grow and maybe think about things differently. Also, happy to see nurse Sakura! It had been a while. If they worked together, Ryunosuke and Nagisa would be such a powerful menace... Only if they don't ever kiss, as it'd mean Nagisa would pass on. There's an angst potential there, but I doubt the anime would touch on it.
The second part of the episode is absolutely hilarious. In order to avoid supplementary classes, all the students remain silent under any circumstances, even when they're being bombed by Ten. Their teacher is even moved to tears... Until the class ends, of course. The comedic timing is flawless, and Lum is adorable as always.
Very curious to see what next episode will bring...
