"love every trans woman you meet before it's too late" is a tumblr post that is very close to my heart because it was inspired by a friend of mine attempting suicide.
like a lot of people seem to assume it's about the banning and stuff and i mean like it can be. love the trans women in your life before the structures around them isolate them. love them before they feel like they're unloved. yk.
but like.
love every trans woman you meet before it's too late is particularly strong to me because it's literally about a friend of mine i thought it was too late for.
i was too scared of making her uncomfortable to let her know how much i love her and how wonderful it is to know her and how happy i am to have met her. and i thought she was gone.
love every trans woman you meet before it's too late is a reminder to me to always push past that discomfort. to always try to make the trans women in your life feel loved. because we so often feel unlovable.
even if you think your actions speak for themselves, push beyond your fears. tell them directly.
"i love you."
"you're a wonderful force in my life, you make me happy."
"i would miss you when you're gone."
"please come to me with your problems."
"i love you."
let the trans women in your life know exactly how much you care about them. let them know you love them. let them know they're your best friend. let them know you'll always be there for them.
they will doubt they're good enough they'll doubt they're loved they'll doubt everything that gives them value. but take them into your heart and make them feel it.
be their shoulder to cry on.
please don't ever let it be too late.

Unironically LOVE how the Nordsee is never there when you’re at the Strand. The Ostsee is such a people pleaser, but the Nordsee? Always gone. Keeping herself busy with the Mond, leaving you with Watt and Watt only. Honestly, love that for her

Has anything actually gotten better, for all the work you talk about doing? Or is it just treading water in misery forever?
Anon, ten years ago gay people couldn't get married in large parts of the US. AIDS was an almost certain death sentence when I was in high school. I was looking at job boards the other day and found a part time gas station job that had health insurance as a benefit, which NEVER would have happened 15 years ago. When I was a kid, hitting your child was extremely normalized in the US and my parents were the weird ones for not doing it. There is a vaccine for chicken pox. I didn't meet anyone who had transitioned until my 20s because it was so uncommon to transition in the aughts, and now there are some states that protect your right to have gender affirming care provided by your health insurance. It's not all states, but it's better than the number of states that had it in 2010, which was zero. THERE ARE TENANTS UNIONS NOW. WE HAVE A VACCINE AGAINST CERVICAL CANCER.
And all of that has been the work of a lot of individuals and organizations and research teams and activists.

hello again (bill clinton limewire voice) my fellow americans
There are a few states that actually have Shield/Refuge laws designed to help trans people fleeing from trans-unsafe states, which also guarantee trans folks access to healthcare. These states are:
California
Colorado
Illinois
Oregon
Vermont
Washington
Minnesota
New Mexico
Maine
Massachusetts
Rhode Island
Connecticut
Washington D.C.
Additionally, some states have "trans sanctuary" executive orders signifying safety for trans folks seeking healthcare. These states are:
Maryland
New Jersey
New York
Living as a resident in these states means you are protected by state's rights and state government to continue or begin receiving trans healthcare. These laws have been codified in their states so everything has been a-ok'd by their state governments.
Stay alive. You got this. I love you.

Jonathan Stroud, I am in your fucking walls. Quill Kipps in The Empty Grave. Quill Kipps as a character. What if you were a child soldier elevated to child general and then immediately put out to pasture as soon as soon as you stopped being useful. But you find a way, right? You find a way to do what you can to help the crazy motherfuckers coming up after you so that the war can finally be fucking over. Oh god, let it be over. "Glad I was able to make a contribution. It's alright, Lucy. If it's going to happen, it's gotta be done right. Here, take my hand. Neither of us are staying here." Quill Kipps you are such a bitch. I'm on my hands and knees. Heartbreaking: Most Unpleasant Person Alive is Just Happy to Make a Contribution. He's literally only 24. He's watched children die. I'm passing away.
Mr. Stroud. I am coming for you.

What should you bring to school?
For the people of Gaza, the memories of days spent in school are distant. But education is not Only a Right but a Duty.
Meet Anas and Ahmad, they are related to Osama Basil, who has his own gofundme.
While managing his own gfm, Osama is also trying to help Anas and Ahmed fund their education somewhere safe, away from the Turmoil in Gaza.
They are Bright Wonderful students who want to pursue careers in computer business and medicine!

I hope you're all excited for October Two: Fuck November. It starts today! It's the special extra month to do all the Halloween stuff you didn't have time to get to in October 1. Didn't finish a costume, or themed art, or streaming horror movies? Well, don't worry about it! Plenty of time in October Two! Or October II if you're fancy.

Morning Doodle: “She had been hard at work with the Triumvirate, trying to reassemble the Second Army and make a plan for its future. Some days Zoya had felt proud and full of excitement, but on others she’d felt like a child masquerading as a leader. It had been harrowing, thrilling to know that they were all standing at the precipice of something new.” (Leigh Bardugo’s King of Scars CH 11)
