There was sorrow in Gil-galad’s eyes. “You should want more from a marriage, Elrond. Such a union should be born out of love…” Elrond pulled his hands out of the king’s grasp and sighed. “Love takes time, and time is a luxury we do not have.” The High King looked upon him with pity. “Be that as it may, I would not ask you to sacrifice your happiness or your freedom for the sake of politics.” The Half-elf felt the cool metal of Nenya against his skin, remembering the press of Adar’s hand upon his armored chest. “You need not ask me anything, my High King,” he murmured, voice low and resigned. “I am offering myself freely.” Gil-galad’s expression was unreadable, and his gaze shifted back to the battlefield map. When he did not reply, Elrond continued. “Shall I accept Adar’s offer of marriage and tell him we agree to his terms? Or do we reject his proposal and meet him on the battlefield?” The High King’s lips parted as if to speak, but he did not answer. Elrond stepped forward, blocking his view of the map. “Which path shall we take?”

The Moriondor will agree to an alliance between Uruks and Elves upon one very specific condition...a diplomatic marriage between Elrond and himself.

Elrond must grapple with political duty and personal desires as he considers Adar's proposal. Is he willing to surrender himself to the enemy for the sake of peace? Can the Half-elf heal a wounded Middle-earth by binding himself to a ruthless stranger?

Adar knows his desire for the Half-elf is dangerous, but he cannot resist his gentle beauty. Conquest requires patience both on and off the battlefield, and the Moriondor is determined to win Elrond's hand as well as his heart.

The voice continued its onslaught, becoming more impassioned but also neglectful in its volume. His beloved wordsmith forgetting in his passion, that walls have ears and you never knew what lurked in the darkness.

One of my favorite scenes in season one was Elrond's visit to Khazad-dûm, where Durin and Disa proceed to argue over him like he's a lost lil puppy

With Disa's "Can't we keep him?? 🥺" look

and Durin's "NO WE CANNAE KEEP THE MONGREL" look in response

Then Elrond like "okay I know when I'm not wanted I'mma bounce bye fam"

But Disa's just

"So HELP ME we're KEEPING HIM"

And Durin's "NO WE ARE NAE—

"No—

"no absolutely NAE—

".............

"............okay fine but it has to sleep outside"

Flashback to a young Elros and Elrond, then the choice they make. Elros being given the "The Land of Gift" aka Numenor from the Valar (which could feed into the fall ahead). Then feed this into the link and relation with Elrond and Elendil for when they finally meet!

Elendil and Elrond Parallel

I love how Season 2 ends the exact same way for Elendil (descendant of Elros) and Elrond: with both looking upon the city they love falling into the hands of the enemy, before forging on to a new path. I think Season 3 will be their time to shine 💪

Also, if Season 3 starts with a flashback to Elrond and Elros making "the choice" and then proceeds to highlight Elrond and Elendil (descendant of Elros) I will be utterly content 🥹🙏

I love the details in the costume.

That blue though also reminds me of the rich sea coloured tones seen in Numenor, a nod to his brother Elros perhaps? 😭🩵
