"One day you'll get bored of me, Ægir. When that day comes I will change for you." She smiled at him, lifting her hand to stroke a lock of hair from his forehead. It was moments like these where Rán found inner peace she didn't want to let go. Neither of them had been violent Gods when compared to others. Yes they book have taken their victims upon the seas and Rán had taken their gold and treasures from them as a gift but never had she targeted someone like many often did. Ægir was perfect for her. He was gentle, he had the same insight on life as it was and she worshiped him as both a god and as a spouse.

"Why would I want to hurt you?" She asked him, looking him in the eyes as she awaited a response but his words that he so often spoke in riddles she immediately understood. "I'll have your back, my love. As I always have." She spoke, turning her gaze away when he mentioned Irene once more. She knew that this human was the perfect fit for her husband, but she couldn't help but to feel rejected herself. "But for her to stay away from him, would mean I would have to as well." She spoke, lifting her hand once more and placed it upon his chest. "I can turn off her emotions. That she will seek no love after it. She just needs someone strong with her. Her cousin died, this other man left her, one never tried. Andrei is all she has."

"Never feel the need to change for me, Rán. I love you exactly as you are." She was his tempest. He brushed a lock of hair from her face, exposing the softness of her cheeks and wicked beauty in her piercing eyes. He loved her for the way that she kissed him, for the way she held his hand, for all that she was and so much more. Ægir was a storm. His might could command waves crashing against a shore, toppling buildings and pulling massive trees by their roots. Rán could tame him into a swimming pool if she so desired. Without her, he would certainly be lost.

"You realize you could defy me," Ægir said softly, his voice a coarse whisper. "If you so desired, you could hurt me like none else. I am wise, but you domesticate me plainly. By your side, I am strong. Do not let me tread too far ahead, or I would lose myself." Ægir swallowed his worries. Rán was the most loyal creature that he had ever met. He had no need to fear. "Love, if you care for Irene, keep her from Andrei. I am very fond of him, I adore the way that he works. He is a machine, and he does as he’s told so beautifully, but it is his mechanisms that numb him. He does not feel. He is afraid to feel. If he believes that he does, he will take measures to stop it as is. If Irene cares for Andrei, she will hurt terribly."

"If you had, I would have changed for you, my love." Rán spoke, smiling at the way he treated her, like a fragile thing that needed sheltering all the time. Though she was as fierce and rough as the sea, she loved it when he was like this and he was the only one she let treat her this way. She couldn't remember a time where the two had been able to stay away from one another if they had the choice of being with one another. It was above all how they resulted to have nine daughters, by not being able to stay away. Not that she wasn't eager to have her between her thighs anyhow. 

"Of course. I wouldn't defy you, my husband." Rán spoke, mesmerized by the way he responded to her touch so much she barely noted the moment he spoke again. It was endearing just how he always tried to turn things to her need, even though he wasn't necessarily happy with it. But this time she wanted to please him instead. "I shall be only yours, my love. As Irene shall be only of Andrei. The girl as lost a lot of people in her life, I fear that too much hurt will let her seize to be and no matter how much that may benefit my activity, it is something I would not wish on her. Unlike those I shared in the past, I came to love this human. If you feel like Andrei would hurt her despite what we may do, I'll shelter her, tell her to turn off her emotions."

"I would have you no other way." Ægir loved her. He loved the way that her eyes fluttered closed, how she reacted to his most gentle of touches. She was drawn to him, like a moth to a flame, and he to her, as the ocean to the moon. They created the oceans, he would pull and she would push. Together, they made tsunami tides and great beds of seaweed. A world of power resided within him, but he needed her to be whole. He touched her hand and held it. 

"Only you," he reassured. "I would not be unfaithful to you, and I trust that you will respond in kind." He reacted to her touches startlingly sensitively, letting his head fall back and lips part ever slightly. He paused for a moment, allowing her time to see how she undid him. "Irene can do as she wills," Ægir whispered, "unless you wish it otherwise. I do adore you, Rán, with my every being. Andrei cares for Irene, too. His heart is fickle, though, I will say this. He will break her heart unknowingly and obtain information, trust, and comradery through most unconventional means. It is his way, but I could stop him if you’d like. Only say the word, my love."

Rán entered the area that Thor and Ægir found themselves in. She looked at both men who had been conversing and she had heard enough of her husband to know he had already told the Gold headed God that the two of them would align to his cause. "I hope I don't come at a wrong time?" Rán asked, making her way towards them, eyes on Thor as she smiled at him, half-curtsying before him before joining at her husband's side. "Will you have us at your side, Thor?"

"Then I'm afraid you'll have to be with me for a very long time." She uttered, her eyes closed at the gentle touch of his finger running down her jaw to her chin, until the pressure of his forehead against hers was felt, her eyes opening once more to watch his flawless face.

"Only me?" She smiled, however noting the jealousy in him when she mentioned Landon. "The knowledge that t'was not you makes me feel better." She said, lifting her hand to curl her fingers through his hair. "Irene might love where she pleases, but my soul belongs with you. But I can make Irene belong to you as well, if that is your desire?"

"I couldn’t dream of hurting you, my love. I’ll be with you for as long as you’ll allow." He trailed a fingertip from her jaw and down her cheek to tip her chin up. Andrei brought their foreheads together and closed his eyes. She was his moon, stars, and universe. He would keep her safe.

"You always were deserving of my affection." He pressed his lips to her cheek before resuming such a position of rest. A flicker of jealousy flared in his gut along with a pool of guilt. "You are not Irene, Thor’s human is not Thor. Two different beings entirely. You would hate me if you knew all of the things I’ve let Andrei do. Such an empty man, filled time and time again."

"Hmm. You always did know how to make me feel better." She smiled, looking up at him in an adoring way. "I'll keep a close eye and step in when I feel like it fits the most. Thor's human and Irene they... had a short something, now I think it's gone."

"We are Gods, my love. We will not die so easily." Ægir brought her hand to his lips and kissed her skin. She fit into his arms easily and he held her close, twisting his fingers through her hair and stroking her scalp in affection. 

"We will protect each other. We will triumph, Rán. Appear as you list, do not hide your face from us unless you feel unsafe. You have more strength than many of the men I know. Do not degrade yourself."

"Here I am hoping those will be a lot of days." She smiled, taking his large hand in hers. "Then we shall join Thor. I wouldn't trust the Egyptians, and Loki has always been known for his backstabbing."

"Now at least we might have thunder to our protection as well." Rán spoke, letting go of his hand only to embrace him, resting her head against his chest. "Just let me know when I can appear. You big men must have something to talk about first without a woman present."

"I may be a man, but you the Goddess who agreed to marry me. You are my better half, and I will fight with you until the end of my days. I think it would be wise to join Thor.." 

"I agree. Good and bad would come from joining any of the leaders. It will be difficult and we will have to be remain smart. We can never let down our guards. I don’t know what I would do if you were to die. I’ll inform him of our loyalty."

"Then I leave the choice with you, my love. You are the man, you're the better half. Do you think we should side with Thor? Share our magic with him?"

"On the one side, we'll be known as the loyal ones, and we can always recruit others to join our side. On the other side, we'll still be in the disadvantage, but as long as we stick together and out of harms way, we might survive a bit longer."

"Andrei has spoken with Thor and Set, also Loki, once. Thor was himself, but I’m unsure for the others. He is weakened, but I believe could be a stronger leader than the rest given the chance. My concerns lie in his heart. He has been betrayed by many and I’m unsure how testing his mettle would fare." 

"If you trust him, than we side with Thor. Loki and Set are too proud. I know very little of Atum. He is stronger and has my respect, but I am more familiar with Thor’s tactics of war. The size of his army does dissuade me."

"You know I don't make those decisions without you. Irene has met Thor and Set, however only their humans, or they acted like it. We never actually spoke with any of them, except for Poseidon. But he is back in his own realm."

"My preference would be Thor, but seeing he is ill equipped and his army is thin, he wouldn't be the smartest choice. But if I'd have to go for loyalty, he'd be the one I'd sign up with."

"That’s why I wished to see you. I stand by you, always. Are you on a side?"

"War, and we are weak."
