I remember how fucking massive this video was 20 years ago when YouTube was in its infancy so it’s cool to read trivia about it. For anyone old enough to remember, it’s definitely giving VH1’s Pop-Up Video.

I like how leverage has a genius character and an autistic character but the autistic character isn't the genius character. the genius is a 22 year old black man with adhd who becomes an expert in anything you give him within 24 hours and the autistic character is a white woman who jumps off buildings for fun and once stabbed a man with a fork because he encroached on her personal space and sense of moral conduct

Another storytelling rule I think people should remember is the law of diminishing returns. If you keep on ramping up the stakes higher and higher and higher, after a point it gets to where the audience can’t really care anymore.

The impact wakes him up, slamming face-first into the gritty sand and half-tumbling and half-skidding down the beach, wet sand burning his skin as he skids across it and the flames that rise to heal him are sluggish and weak. By the time he stops, he’s sprawled out in the sand, one leg bent in a way that feels unnatural, one arm pinned under his chest and the other stretched out to the side and somehow buried in a dark mass of sea weed and kelp and a spray of salty water that saps out every bit of energy he had left.
He can’t move.
Everything is spinning and he’s dizzy and everything hurts and he’s too tired to feel it but he knows he’s terrified.
“Phoenix!”
Whitey’s voice is far away and the sound swims in and out of his ears. He tries to call out to her but he can’t make a sound.
“Shit, he went over the cliff!”
“Don’t just stand there! Come on!” POV: You are a pirate trying to find your crew's pet bird after he flew over a cliff during a fight and instead you find the broken body of a starving human child. Part 2 of my series I like to call "forcing myself to actually draw more by making art of awesome fics I've read" This is from Spread My Wings and Learn to Fly by 3LeavesClover and I don't know how it's possible for a fic to be so angsty and so adorable at the same time. If you want to literally have your heart ripped out by a tiny baby bird I cannot recommend it enough. And yes I'm aware that there are so many sweet and adorable moments from this fic I could have drawn instead but the angst is just too good to pass up.
