Коще́й Бессме́ртный
Коще́й Бессме́ртный or Koshey Byesmyertney is a Russian folklore character within the realms of other characters such as Баба Яга (Baba Yega).
Koshey Byesmyertney literally translates into Koshey the Deathless as he is a skeleton-like humanoid that possesses magical powers and has the power of immortality. The word Koshey seems to have to come from the Russian word кость (kost) which means bone, refering to his skeleton-like features.
Koshey Byesmyertney, in Russian folklore, is the male antagonist and kidnaps the protagonist Hero's wife, and due to his immortality, the hero must find a way to kill him. It turns out there is, Koshey's soul (or death as it called in Russian Folklore) is hidden on the tip of a needle which is inside of an egg, which is inside a duck within a Hare all inside an iron/crystal/ gold chest (varied depending on story) buried under an oak tree on the island of Buyan and on top of that, according to some accounts, this is all inside a whale.
Possession of Koshey's soul weakens him, although to kill him you must go to the island, unbury the box, open the box, chase the hare, kill the hare, from which will emerge the duck which immediately start flying away, then shoot the duck out of the air, retreive the egg, crack open the egg and destroy the needle.
