Genuinely don't know what it's called but there's a particular way of violating reality that doesn't work. For example, I am willing to accept an omegaverse university AU of nearly any fandom you care to name (except, for some reason, Sherlock, because I have an inexplicable hatred for unilock). However, a lot of Star Wars university AUs specifically fail on this aspect: they make Anakin an engineering PhD student and Obi-Wan something like literature or classics, and then they make Anakin his TA or GA.

You can't do that. Absolutely not. Anakin is unqualified for that and a university would not do it in any case. A university would literally hire a junior or senior undergraduate workstudy student to do as much of that work as possible first. They would do NOTHING other than do that and make the prof do all his own grading.

I don't mean this is a patronizing or condescending way, but obviously the us government does not want another country, in particular one we have an antagonistic relationship with, using an app to steal data and track us citizens; but are okay with apps based in the US doing the same thing because those companies are more likely to idk share that data and info with the US government.

I fully support laws regulating how ALL social media stores/tracks/uses/shares its data, up to and including banning ones that refuse to protect their users, but it's kinda like no shit in this situation.

just stumbled across Francisco Soria Aedo’s work and first off: really good painter, super talented. He mainly did portraits and neoclassical but I really like are his expressions, which do show up in his neoclassical work. lots of people smiling and having fun and it’s just very cute

We will see the end of Trump. He will leave office again one day, he will die, his cult will crumble and have no idea what to do with themselves. The GOP will have an identity crisis without their Frankenstein's monster that led their party for over a decade.
