WORK EXPERIENCE

ARUP │ Lagos, Nigeria. November 2017 – November 2019

Graduate Structural Engineer

Project - The Ikoyi Plaza:

Developed the detailed design of a 9-storey reinforced concrete multi-use Car Park development, making use of CSC Orion and STAAD PRO to aid design.

Provided detailed designs for the foundation pile caps, transfer beams, and long-span cinema raker beams located within the building in accordance with BS8110 and Eurocode 2.

Produced the detailed drawings and models to be issued for construction, making use of Computer-Aided Design software (AutoCAD and Revit).

Assisted the Project Engineer in site inspections during the construction stage of the project.

Ensured that the project consistently met project deadlines by making use of BIM and Project Management tools which improved collaboration and aided in the near-seamless integration of other project consultants.

Project - Shell Nigeria (FMH Structural Appraisal):

Assessment of the Structural Integrity of a 13-storey reinforced concrete building.

Spearheaded the assessment team in exploring the structural indicators and defects in the building and interpreting the information to give a full assessment of the building’s viability after its designed lifespan.

Prepared the detailed technical report communicating all the findings of the project to the client. This report included information on all the tests carried out, the observed defects and practical remedies to resolve certain defects.

Project - Henkel Egil Factory Expansion:

Made use of Finite Element Analysis Software (Oasys GSA) to analyse the current strength of key structural elements of a steel-framed industrial building in accordance with BS5950 and Eurocode 3.

Provided clients with a cost-effective steel design for the proposed expansion, utilising and maximising the efficiency of the current elements.

Assisted the Project Engineer in the planning and management of the project, ensuring that KPI targets and the project delivery were on par with client expectations.
