New zealand south island with the camper van
Early check and book to get a good price is worthwhile. After we arrived at the airport in Christchurch around noon, we went directly to Oamaru by rental car. I just had to see the Blue Penguin Colony, animal crazy as I am. There is the Blue Penguin Center where you can book an evening tour.
21st Stewart Island is the third largest island of New Zealand
Various guided tours are offered in the city centre, including a "Guided Bike Tour", during which the highlights of the metropolis are explored by bike. The southern east coast of the Otago area stretches from the Clutha River south of Dunedin to Oamaru in the north. Dunedin, built on the model of Edinburgh, is one of the most Scottish cities in New Zealand. Here you can visit the only castle in New Zealand.

To be honest, I have rarely experienced such a great service and I am still totally excited about this great trip! We met early in the morning in Anakiwa and after a short introduction we went straight into the water with our kayaks. One of the most important points when planning your road trip through New Zealand's South Island is of course choosing a good camper van.
The New Zealanders are simply incredibly nice people, the nature is unique and so versatile - simply a reason to fly there again and again. Banks Peninsula is the perfect start for your trip. Even if you don't start your trip in Christchurch, Banks Peninsula is a highlight not to be missed. Get a taste of the French colonial history of Karoa. If you prefer to see Queenstown's surroundings a little more quietly, you can take a trip to Glenorchy. The drive to this small town along Lake Wakatipu offers mega awesome views and takes about 45 minutes. But it is best to plan a few stops to take pictures and enjoy the awesome mountain scenery. As soon as you arrive in Glenorchy you should go straight to the peer and check out the color of the lake and the panorama - amazing! The whole thing started with a bus and now extends well beyond the bus. The entrance fee is cheap and if you are lucky you will also meet the hobbyist himself. Rubber boots as a water wheel, a light organ that makes sounds, all kinds of funny ideas you can try out yourself. Read more about campervan hire New Zealand here.
