au: stardew valley

Okay, this one took my brain places and I had to wait for my brain to stop running around with it.

Instead of the bunker as we know it, Henry Winchester leaves the brothers the deed to an old farm in Stardew Valley, which is full of Weird Magic Crap in addition to being a surprisingly off the grid home base. Basically, the brothers are now doing a co-op playthrough with various character substitutions.

Instead of eventually unlocking a greenhouse or mushroom cave or whathaveyou, the boys instead try to find the underground stuff Henry promised was there, and the best way for them to inconspicuously attempt the search is to actually get the farmland back in order.

The wizard in the tower is Frank, going more tech than magic but still very much with his finger on the pulse of the local weirdness. The old mine isn't for exploring and getting ore: there is weird, monstrous shit in there. Set up next to the mouth of the mine is a house belonging to pair of old men, Rufus with his weapons and Bobby in his wheelchair.

Not sure if both brothers can see Junimos, but definitely one of them can. Possibly Dean, as part of the first born seeing fairies thing. Instead of restoring the community center, the trick is appeasing these sprites to reveal more of the magic HQ.

I'd been wondering for a while where Cas was in this or how to sub him in before realizing, of course, he's Linus. He's the weird pacifist guy who lives in the woods in a tent, he's gone a bit around the bend from something, teaches the beehive blueprint, and is completely terrified of the new business coming into town Joja SucroCorp.

Ellen and Jo run the local saloon, and they steer clear of SucroCorp influenced foods, because once people in the town convert to Joja, they get super creepily loyal to the products. So now the brothers have to keep the farming shit up, because the only food they can trust is their own while they try to figure out what the hell SucroCorp is doing in this valley, and why Frank is so convinced it ties back to the monsters in the mines...

I made a thing! I was thinking about this for a few days - because I realized that when I was young, I was also frustrated about being given the same advice over and over - without really knowing what it meant!!

Here’s 5 techniques which I have done before which have helped me grow as an artist, which are good for 5-minute warmups or just straight up challenges for your sketchbook! 

Obviously, these are not the ONLY techniques - they’re just the ones I find most fun! And maybe they’re not the most ‘correct’ ones out there, but it’s better than another comic about practicing more, right?
