My favorite thing about former dock worker Optimus Prime with megatron who doesn’t know is that you can get an interaction like this:

Optimus: “I was a dock worker before all this, I miss being treated normally”

Megatron: “A-you were a dock worker? How?!”

OP: “Yes, I was. It was the class I was built into”

Meg: “…What!!??”

OP: “Why do you think I was called ‘The People’s Prime’?”

Meg: “I don’t know! I thought it was some ridiculous title to earn your favor with the lower castes! How did you even get the matrix then?”

OP: “Alpha Trion thought it a good idea to take the matrix on a stroll through the docks, primus knows why. One minute I’m moving crates, the next the matrix is flying at me like a holy scraplet”

Meg: “……….”

OP: “3rd wildest work shift ever”

extra context for these:

this is inspired by the concept of the city/internals of Megatron changing colour in response to heat- something Rodimus has plenty of! (as mentioned in asks here and here)

in this AU Megatron rarely speaks to/acknowledges his cityspeakers, so Rodimus is trying to get a rise out of him the entire time :]
