A warlock known for their library of powerful grimoires and magical items dies, and in their will, leaves the key to whoever can retrieve it from the monster in their basement. Many have tried and lost their lives trying. Little does anyone know that the monster is the sin of Greed, and it destroys anyone who wants the key for greedy purposes. You are a minor warlock who was living on the streets until several big names in magic forced you into the basement to retrieve the key for them.

New prompt: if someone meets the “Christmas Carol” ghosts and fails to learn their lesson by the next morning, more ghosts will return the next night, and even more the next, until they become a better person. What do these phases after the first look like? What happens when there is an army of ghosts?
