this "detective caitlyn" scene characterizes her so well

a few things i love, in chronological order of how i clocked them in this scene:

fidgets/has to move while thinking

her determination! / obsession. she would rather solve the issue than let it sit while she rests. she follows through til the very end.

LOVES sharing her theories with people she trusts

has no problem manhandling the people she trusts

cares nothing for frilly, meaningless, artificial condolences, regardless of where they're from (throws JAYCE'S flowers down next to the mountain of other bouquets). gift giving is NAWT her love language

detective work is EASILY her favorite part of her job (even though that's technically not her responsibility). solving cases seems to be her favorite thing. she loves being an enforcer BECAUSE she has access to all the information that others don't have (jayce's "the hexgates???" he is not informed on the day-to-day, but caitlyn was because of her job.

methodical, organized, observant, intelligent. she's a natural detective. (i love you caitlyn)

has no problem approaching/challenging authority in the name of true justice. is unafraid of her "superiors" (marcus who is sheriff AND her boss, the council, her parents)

asks direct questions, and communicates with precise language (the "when? why?" right after realizing jayce is a councillor. she does this no bullshit, no frill communication with vi, too, in stillwater, until she realizes that vi rarely gives her a straight answer (also, that vi is maybe interested in her), so she switches tactics and joins in, eventually growing to actually cherish the fact that she doesn't have to be direct with vi. my shaylasssssssss)

again, SHE HATES APPEARANCES/FACE-SAVING/ARTIFICIALITY. she's instantly disgusted by the "ceremonial position" of being jayce's "security". if it has quotes around it, she don't want it

disgusted by her parents firing her / doing what THEY think is best for her (caitlyn hunting flashback with grayson confirms this)

has no problem delivering commands. "Get out."

her eyes dart around when she's thinking deeply

it's really not hard to see how this girl turned into "commander kiramman" in season 2! not a direct bullet-to-bullet, but:

her case-solving obsession grows to focus solely jinx. it doesn't shift. her case in season 2 is "must capture jinx", but keep in mind -- it's the exact same case as the one she is talking about here. she's been trying to prevent all these attacks (re: prevent innocent loss of life) since the beginning of her time as an enforcer. only, in s2, she now has kidnapping, her own near-murder, her mother's murder, the council's near-murder, to add to the list of crimes associated with the case. this is the biggest case/problem/puzzle of her life, and she's extremely emotional. no wonder she gets obsessed.

she won't stop until the case is solved (jinx is captured).

she lays out a methodical, detailed, plan of how she'll use her new enforcer task force.

she stands up to ambessa when she worries there is injustice, and she does so directly, using precise, direct questions and language.

she interrogates singed using the same direct communication. (later, she relishes the fact that vi is still joking with her when they reunite.)

she visits jailbroken stillwater herself because she never wanted to be a puppet, she'd prefer to always be on the ground.

her personal bounty on jinx is likely weighed down by the loss of a parent, and the anger of another (whose protective choices for cait's life were constantly resisted by caitlyn.) she probably feels remorse for the way she constantly rejected their choices, ultimately leading to her mother getting killed, when she "had the shot"

at multiple times in the second season, her eyes get dart-y/move a lot as she's processing weighty information (the iconic "THAT'S ALL IT TOOK YOU ABSOLUTE FAG").

she and vi take turns topping.

and in all, "she was doing what she thought was right", in the words of her father. yes, her rage blinded her, but ONLY IN REGARDS TO ALL THINGS JINX. she forbid the use of isolation cells, ensured the prisoners had good food, questioned why they were even there in the first place. sleeping with maddie isn't a moral/ethical decision, besides the HR implications of sleeping with a coworker. and the instant vi offered her an out from ambessa, she took it.

(her lack of regard for appearances and artificiality ......... she dgaf ab maddie i'm sorry girl 😭😭😭)

anyway pls show some respect for caitlyn's name & character. she's privileged, yes, but also morally complex (both are traits that ALL OF YOU GUYS HAVE if you just stopped to examine your own lives for ONE SECOND). i think that's beautiful, and i also think it's beautiful that they wrote a woman who experiences the entirety of rage in its most heartbreaking moments.

People mad about Sabrina Carpenter's provocative performances for Juno are so tired, mind your fucking business. "Think about the kids at her shows!!" Most of the people attending her shows are grown women and this is the same exact shit people pressed Britney Spears about when she grew into herself and started to express more of her sexuality. And I will say if kids are too young to witness her innuendos, they won't even pickup on them, I promise you. Male artists have been disgusting and vulgar in their on-stage performances, in their lyrics and videos since the beginning of time without criticism, but a woman gets on stage and makes suggestive moves and society has a meltdown. The truth is, y'all are terrified of the power that women have.

In my mind it’s a fun little dream episode, Charlie falls asleep watching the movie or something and naturally inserts himself and the Waitress as the love interests

Story is majorly the same, but the vibes are much more…Sunny

For instance, the Waitress definitely dreams of leaving Skid Row but absolutely not with Charlie. She really only comes around to him when he starts making money.

Frank is. Actually Frank is pretty much the same lmao. So is Charlie

Mac as Orin because leather dusters, hating women, generally seeing himself as a badass, also in one of the cut songs of the og musical it’s mentioned that Orin knows karate LMAO

Dee and Dennis as Audrey II because they both frequently manipulate Charlie to their own advantage. Also Dennis wants women’s bodies, Dee wants men’s bodies, therefore they both as a collective entity just want bodies. Also also cool body horror imagery and/or just alien imagery of both of them as the same plant. Also also also it’d be funny

Mushnik & Son would just be such a fun song with Frank and Charlie like cmon now (also very similar to how the show portrays Frank as a surrogate father for Charlie at times)

Similar to how some productions do it (at least for the finale) the faces/consciousnesses of people the plant has eaten end up becoming part of the plant.. which means by Act II the plant is LITERALLY just the whole gang out to get Charlie. Blah blah blah, internalized imagery of how he often blames the gang for not being able to get with the Waitress instead of himself

Also, Dee and Dennis already having a rough time being forced together all the time because they share/are the same being, made ten times funnier when both Frank and Mac are also forced to share as well. All of them want different things and they cannot agree

Naturally Charlie is woken up by his dream at the end of the episode as he’s being eaten by the plant/gang, and wakes up in a state of shock and confusion. Wizard of Oz moment where the whole gang has gathered in his apartment for one reason or another, Dennis and Mac are arguing about the total eclipse that just happened and how it’s even possible if (insert one of Mac’s religious fallacies here), Charlie starts to explain his dream but is quickly written off as an entirely separate scheme that they need him for starts. Charlie ignores them for a bit as he still wakes up from his vivid dream and looks out the window. He looks across the street, and sees a vendor below selling plants. Most of them look dead or dying, but the vendor holds a single, green, healthy one that looks strikingly familiar. He winks at Charlie, who goes to tell the gang, but they’re already out the door and snipping at him to hurry up and come with them, and when he looks back…there’s nothing across the street at all😨

Asking my mom about her disability so I can give you all pretty accurate information on Viktor o7

She has post-polio, and has a leg brace like he does. So for all your "could Viktor do this?" questions, I go to my mother ♡ He most likely has a combination of things, but definitely seems to have post-polio. So yes, other things could stop him from these activities but overall, this is a swing at how it works for this aspect of his life.

What I know as of now about Viktor, most likely,

- could skateboard

- could drive a motorcycle

- drive a car (has to use good leg to press on pedals)

- does NOT sleep with the leg brace on

- dead silent when he takes the brace off

- my mom played sports that involved throwing more than running (softball (pitcher), volleyball, she did try out for football at some point but the coach didnt want a girl trying out)

- sigh...yes...he can do the deed without breaking a fucking hip. He isnt made of glass. Im not going into detail on this one thanks

- roller skating

- shoot a gun (idk why this is debated)(also though i will say that for some guns, the kick is too strong. The entire body is effected by polio, its just most severe in some parts like his leg)

- ice skating!!! I know this is a hot debate, she has gone ice skating
