i really do think it's funny how grant is accidentally set up to be like. So interesting through a transfem lens considering that was absolutely nobody's intention.. like . It's a little wild. The fact that darryl always describes grant as being sensitive, the repression, the idea that staying his father's son is going to kill him, the way that grant grapples with dissociation and depression and the way that the whole arc centered on him "becoming a man" only worsens that and just.. God. And at the core grant is just sensitive and loving and incredibly awkward. grant wants to be soft more than anything. but the world forces a weapon in his hands and chokes out any feelings aside from guilt. The world tells him that the only way to exist is through violence. Even just dumb little moments like yeet and killa awkwardly saying "your boy grant" when no kids talk like that. or grant trying on the suit in the mens clothing store . stuffing on a suit that doesn't fit right and shoving down the discomfort and saying "yeah dad you're right, why talk about any of your problems.
