First/main promotional trailer for Kid Icarus: Uprising, from the game’s official page on Nintendo.com
After many many years of trying fruitlessly to retrieve video from Nintendo’s websites, as they were well hidden under custom IDs and JavaScript references, we’ve finally successfully, reliably downloaded any videos available! Hurrah.

‘Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters’ - a Game Boy only sequel to the original NES game, and one that only was released in America and Europe - not Japan! Weird!
This is the cover artwork for the game.

Furthermore, in keeping with our main responsibility (archival) we have also uploaded a number of magazine scans and other strategy guides in the form of PDFs, available to browse in a MediaFire folder. All of these items have been posted to this blog before, but can now be downloaded in their original resolution.
*note: this folder does not include the official manga

It has been brought to our attention that the Kid Icarus Uprising Prima Official Game Guide has been removed from archive.org for “violating terms of use,” most likely a takedown from Nintendo.
In the interest of continuing the free exchange of information, and digitally preserving assets, we have reuploaded the PDF to a MediaFire link available for download here.

Wow! It’s not much in the grand scheme of Tumblr, but we never expected this blog to gain many followers at all!
Just a post to say thank you so much for following us. This blog is an archive and odds-and-ends gallery, not so much an active fandom space, so we hope you continue to enjoy and understand why our posts are often few and far between, rather than involved in active discussion
We hope you’ll all continue to watch for Kid Icarus content as it becomes available!

GoGo Pit-Kun!
Finally, I’ve gone around to finish editing the scans of a manga from a 1987 Kid Icarus guidebook. Mangas for video games in this era are not to be taken for canon, it’s still a cute read though. Read the rest of it below!

Building on a prior post about the script used in the Kid Icarus stages of Super Smash Bros. Brawl through Ultimate, we’ve learned another similar set of symbols is also present in the stage Unovan Pokémon League.
While similar in composition, none of the second set of symbols are identical to any in the first. Regardless, its appearance in a second stage unrelated to Kid Icarus lends credence to it being a Smash Bros.-specific script, and being ultimately unrelated to the Kid Icarus franchise.
An example from Palutena’s Temple on the left, and from the Unovan Pokémon League on the right

Note: it was brought to our attention that the animated Pit floater on our desktop blog was causing clipping and visibility issues on smaller resolution screens; the issue should now be resolved.

First appearing in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008 on the Skyworld stage, a mysterious 10-character script has been present in each succeeding Smash title’s version of the stage. Starting in Smash Bros. for WiiU, the script is also present in the Palutena’s Temple stage. There are 2 interesting things to note:
1, that the version of the script found in Palutena’s Temple is a much lower resolution (in both normal and Battlefield modes) than that in Skyworld, most likely to save memory on a stage of its size
and 2, that across the 4 center floating platforms of the upper left-hand portion of the Palutena’s Temple stage the script has been flipped upside down and mirrored.
The script has made no other known appearances in Smash Bros. or the Kid Icarus franchise.
