Tim’s been having 4-8 seizures a day as a result of the tumors that have spread to his spinal cord and brain. Tim needs to get to his doctor in Columbus, OH, to get new scans done and get some prescriptions filled. He’s out of his psych meds. He’s out of his pain meds. He’s not sleeping. He can’t keep food down.

I’m out of funds to be able to help until my next paycheck. Tim can’t wait that long. He needs ~$200 to get from Pittsburgh to Columbus so he can see his doctor. feeling sick thinking about Hawai‘i after its most recent tsunami watch. Luckily there was no tsunami but it is harrowing to hear about friends and family talking about the ordeal of trying to evacuate to safe zones while thousands of tourists and outsiders treat it like a joke while causing all the traffic and taking up all the space in the shelters.

Nobody thinks about the everyday harm of colonization, the exploitation and erasure of culture. But especially nobody thinks of the immediate danger of it either. Even after the Lahaina fires, nobody cares. People died and tourists took up the resources and locals were left with no home to be prey to predators who wanted to buy their land. Who knows how many people could’ve been hurt in a real life tsunami scenario due to overpopulation of haoles causing traffic and taking up space and resources that doesn’t belong to them. You’re all selfish people endangering my loved ones.

For Leen (@leenmata1) and her children, this is not a choice. Since the only food they have are flour infested with insects, either they eat the food filled with insects, or they starve.

Leen has 5 children, the youngest of whom is only 2-years old while the oldest is only 15. Her husband Ahmed is responsible for caring for not only his family, but also his sick elderly parents and his married brother with his 2 children. To do so, Ahmed decided to migrate and apply for asylum in another country a week before the current war with hopes that he may find a better way to provide for his family. However, Ahmed cannot work while his asylum application is getting processed, and he has no way to help his family who is trapped in Gaza right now.

Leen and her children are now living in a refugee camp. Their home has been destroyed, and they have no income and no food. Please help Leen and her children survive and reunite with Ahmed!

Thursday, July 31st: Hello, everyone. I’m Gem, a bi, mentally ill, and multiple disabled woman in desperate need of help, as I'm drowning in debt and struggling to pay my rent and bills!!

Over a thousand Palestinians have been killed in the GHF death traps disguised as aid distribution (run by the US and backed by Israel) since they opened in late May. Just yesterday, (Wednesday, July 30, 2025) Israeli forces attacked hundreds of starving people heading towards the Zikim crossing point for aid trucks entering northern Gaza, killing at least 51 and injuring over 648 others, and Nasser Medical Complex reported 20 others were killed in southern Gaza near Khan Younis. (Al Jazeera, Jul 30, 2025, "More than 70 aid seekers killed as starvation worsens in Gaza." )

These daily massacres are being enacted on a population who is experiencing what the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) describes as the “worst-case scenario of famine.”

Think about what happens to the starving bodies of children. In the body, the digestive system slows and children's growth and development stall. Heart rate slows, blood pressure drops, body temperature falls. The body begins to consume its own organs, muscles, and bones. The immune system is weakened.

Think about children who are being brutally injured and denied sanitary conditions while starving. Malnutrition directly increases the likelihood of bones breaking and infections like pneumonia, diarrhea, measles, and sepsis. According to Dr. Aqsa Durrani (a physician and epidemiologist who worked this spring at a trauma field hospital in Gaza treating victims of airstrikes) when children are malnourished, even their surgical incisions cannot heal properly because their bodies don't have enough protein to rebuild the tissue. (Time, Jul 31, 2025, "The Medical Consequences of Starvation")

The only means of survival is buying food from markets where there is extreme price gouging, making the smallest amounts continuously more and more expensive the longer Israel prevents aid from reaching Gaza.

My friend Mahrah (@mahrahpalestine) is living in Gaza right now under these conditions. Her parents are losing weight rapidly as they starve. She was studying to be an engineer at Al-Azhar University, and over the course of this war, she is not only losing everything she had, but losing her opportunities. She dreamed of using her skills to rebuild Palestine and support her community. She writes, "My future is what is being lost. I am supposed to focus on my studies, but famine keeps us away from everything."

Her brother Mahmoud is in Egypt, doing everything he can to get her donations to survive, and they miss each other. They need to survive long enough to meet again.
