really gnawing on my fist thinking about how so much of shiori's scorn toward juri is just another manifestation of her self-hatred. shiori always saw juri as so strong and untouchable, someone infinitely more gifted and beautiful than she could ever hope to be. she still does. so when she learns that juri is in love with her, someone who, in shiori's eyes, is so utterly plain, so utterly average and unremarkable, she's astounded and repulsed - specifically at the thought that someone like juri could have someone as pathetic as her in her heart. her cruelty towards juri is a plea in a way, for juri to see her; an attempt to go as low as she possibly can to see if juri could really continue to love and care about her after seeing how (as shiori sees it) despicable she truly is. THEE mothers of toxic yuri oh my god
