Bandaids and a Bowl of Soup
Alone, you are bandaids and a bowl of soup.
A temporary reprieve from the storm in someone else’s life.
And sometimes a bandaid and bowl of soup is all someone needs,
But bandaids fall off before some wounds heal, and soup gets cold.
Don’t become an empty bowl and piece of fabric hanging by a thread to be a temporary reprieve.
Instead, take them to the doctor.
Get them stitches instead of bandaids and raincoats instead of soup,
Let them learn ways to heal, and hold their hands until the storm is over.
Understand that it was never you not being enough, but someone else needing more than you can give.

Text
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.
