“Yes yes, of course~!” Hand holding! How absolutely scandalous! Linking fingers with her lovely, hopeless Nagato, Mutsu leans against Nagato with a soft sigh. “Hmmm, now where to go~.”

No one wants to see my muscled body that exposed, I’m not like Musashi or anything.” There’s a reason those Ise-class girls wear their stuff, not realizing probably that the muscles probably look good. “Fine but I’ll show you it doesn’t work, then we’ll be back to one pieces…let’s gp.”

“My my, you of all people have no reason to be self conscious~!” Once again, Mutsu rests her head on Ise’s shoulder, this time rubbing the girl’s toned stomach with soft, strong hands. “You’ve got a lot to show off here, you know~.”

“Hmph just what sort of girl do you think I am, I have plenty stored up for this occasion. Simply because I don’t go often, means I can afford good things.” Ise continued her huffy attitude, at least until the specifics of what types she’d pick came up. Then a flash of red followed, “that is, well a one piece is more my style isn’t it, me and Hyuuga are after all..” So much for being a fresh style filled girl, edging herself with Mutsu to get going.

“Oh? Well, if you say a one piece is more your style...” The most diabolical of grins twists Mutsu’s mouth, the battleship the image of a devil! “I suppose we’ll have to make you try on a bunch of bikinis then, won’t we?” Evil snail is evil. How dare you, Mutsu?

“Well I know that but I can;t exactly put one on while you’re hugging me and I’ve torn three already so could you just… help me?” There was no dealing with the dork without being direct.

“What am I going to do with you... my my...” Well, those torn coats were money down the drain. Such is life! Gentle fingers guide the hopeless Nagato through every step of the dangerous, puzzling task of dressing herself. Finally... It was a success! “There. Ara ara... such a troublesome woman I’ve brought into my life~.”

“H-hey.” Ise squired a bit against this sudden nuzzling and newly added weight to her shoulder, it wasn’t a bad thing but in public it felt a tad embarrassing. “Beaches? Swimsuits, hey that’s a bit…its cold after all.”

“I’m totally into buying clothes, just because I wear this around all day.” The girl broke herself free to turn and face Mutsu, hands on her hips with a huff. “Besides, I don’t have a good swimsuit right now so its settled. We’re going shopping, and YOU are helping me find one!”

“My my, you’re all fired up about this!” Ah, Ise was cute when she got all huffy... “Swimsuit shopping, hm? Well, they should be pretty cheap, since it’s September. Fufufu, I wonder whether you prefer one piece or two piece suits... It’s settled, then! Let’s go~!” The sooner they left, the sooner they could enjoy their day off!

“That isn’t helping.” the battleship pointed out, trapped bu the hug. “I need to put a jacket on but none of thse have the reinforcing I’m used to, I think is should get it added when I can. In the meantime if you could please help and not…”

The hugging shall not cease. Nagato shall receive a gentle bap on the head for her troubles. “It’s not armored because it’s not armor, silly. They’re civvie clothes. You know, like something we’d wear when we’re going out. Which is what we’re doing. People will stare if we go out in uniform, you know.” Hell, Nagato would get flustered if Mutsu looks too long, let alone some random strangers on the street. It’s hard enough coaxing her out of the base as it is!

Ise rested in the middle of the hall with her hands on her hips, looking around for the usual gang to be able to do something on a free day. Like her unknowingly near friend, she’d had all the time in the world but nothing to spend that time on. At least until a surprise set of arms pulled around her and a chin found itself nestled into her shoulder.

“Hu?” She chirped so slightly in reaction turning her head a bit to see who was hanging off her now. “Mutsu-san? Yes, I have the day free! Wait, you too? Really?” Ise was used to having the days off, especially since her aviation remodel made her usage more specific, but Mutsu too? “Absolutely free, overly so really.”

“Ahh, is that so? Lucky me~! I’m so relieved I could kiss you!” She settles with some hearty nuzzling, then finally allows Ise to be freed from her grip. For now. At the very least, she had something to work with. “My my... But what to do, what to do... I’d take you to the beach, but it’s a bit chilly for that. Shame, I’m sure your swimsuit would be quite stunning!”

Talk of Ise and beaches aside, Mutsu idly taps her chin. Well, she had been so resigned to having nothing to do, the moment a chance to fix it arrived she found herself at a loss! “Hm, well, all I can think of is going shopping and going out for dinner... Though I’m not certain you’re all that into buying new clothes.”

What good is free time when you’ve no one to spend it with? What’s a girl to do? A whole day to herself, and nothing to do! With nothing to clean, workouts completed and a crippling dislike of cooking, Mutsu found herself at a loss! Even worse, most of the others were busy with their expeditions or sorties. The other girls with free time were few and far between, and most had their own hobbies or errands to attend to. Of all the rotten luck. 

Though it seems luck was feeling indecisive, as the minute Mutsu had resigned herself to a boring day in front of the television her solution arrived! Ise turned the corner in a hallway, her back to Mutsu! No gear, no tools, no cleaning supplies? That looked like a day off in Mutsu’s book! Before Ise could leave her sight, Mutsu threw her arms around the girl’s shoulders from behind, and rested her chin on Ise’s shoulder. “My my, I guess my luck’s turned around after all~! Please tell me you’re off today too! I’ve been dying for some company~!”

At any rate, it’s high time Mutsu dragged Ise along on a shopping trip. Excuse to spend time with Ise, AND an excuse to buy stuff. Two birds, one stone. Pragmatism is king.
