OVERVIEW: Roy Mustang was revered as a great hero of his nation. Alongside his loyal companions, he clawed his way to the top as he aimed to change the country of Amestris for the better. The path was wracked with sacrifice and hardships but it was a burning ambition he desperately clung onto for the sake of his ideals. 

In his prime, he served the military of Amestris as State Alchemist and Colonel, under the title of The Flame Alchemist. Roy is summoned to Chaldea as a Caster servant who wields flames at his command and he fights alongside the final master to preserve humanity.

   “yeah, yeah, whatever.” words punctuated with nonchalant tone & a wave of his hand. not that ed wasn’t proud of his achievements—but, on a personal level, military titles never did mean as much to him as they did to mustang; the rank of major that he’d once was always secondary to the privilege of gaining classified information as a state alchemist.

   “and does it matter? you’ll get it back… eventually.” once the military was free from corruption & wrongs were righted, that is. edward had complete faith in roy, but… what was the harm in adding a few hundred cenz to the mix? “baby steps, col—brigadier general, it’ll feel so much more satisfying after you accomplish it.”

     REGARDLESS of how much Edward had grown physically, he was still a damned BRAT after all these years. There was apparently no more reason for the youth to even properly RESPECT his title but then again, when had he ever done that for the Brigadier General ? 

     ❛ In that case, I think I’ll consider adding INTEREST every several months then. It will certainly be more satisfying by the end of it, wouldn’t you think ? ❜ Being as PETTY as he was, it was an idea that he would happily go through.

ULTIMATE OTP ?  Roy & Riza for sure ! To be honest, I never really got into it in the past but now that I have Roy, I find myself practically enamored with the ship because of how amazing they are together. For so long, they’ve been at each other’s sides and they’ve got each other’s back. She’s always there to drag him back before he makes a careless mistake and they’re just always there to support each other no matter what happens T_T They would never abandon one another and Riza’s loyalty towards Roy is so beautiful. It’s a shame that they weren’t able to get married due to their official positions but I’m pretty sure they’ve got something going on in secret owo really are meant for each other aaaaaa. 

A SHIP YOU WILL ALWAYS LOVE ?  Hughes and Roy, no doubt about it lol I know hughes would never cheat on his lovely wife so its kind of a what if they got together instead scenario. their chemistry is just so wonderful together. Oh, and also Ed and Winry, no explanations needed. They’re just so cute and wholesome T_T

A SHIP YOU NEVER THOUGHT YOU’D LIKE ?  Kimblee and Roy. While it most likely isn’t the most healthiest, I think their dynamic would be interesting especially with the vast differences they possess between them in regards to morals and actions. I feel that Kimblee would be been drawn to Roy’s alchemy and what it’s accomplished in the war. He’d probably try to get under Roy’s skin about it since he would try to convince Roy that they’re similar and he’d try reeeeally hard to probe into his deepest darkest desires. Frankly, roy would not have it at all and be like nope but this ship would be interesting to think about it. 

A SHIP YOU USED TO LIKE, BUT DON’T ANYMORE ?  Note that this was me when I was like super young and in my middle school “fujoshi phase” but I used to ship Roy & Ed which is very much now blergh to me. I guess it was just their dynamic? But now that I’m here now, I’ve come to hate it as a romantic ship because one, ed is a minor in the main timeline and two, it would never ever work out. I am 100% sure these two would rather die than get with each other LOL While they hold a great deal of respect, as well as care for one another, it’s not at all a relationship that could develop into a romantic one. Roy views Ed as an unruly child and honestly, he’s far too immature for his tastes. They bicker way too much with each other and they often take whatever opportunity they can get to one up each other because they enjoy seeing the other struggle. They’re both such asses to each other so it honestly seems more like petty dad fights his rebellious son dynamic. Besides, Roy is for sure into people around his age and is not stupid enough to go for a kid and one he can hardly control at that. 

A SHIP YOU THINK SHOULD BE CANON ?  Honestly, every ship in this series I’ve ever wanted is basically canon but all in all, everyone deserves happiness and love >;D

A CANON SHIP YOU HATE ?  I don’t think there are any canon ships I hate or dislike since all of the relationships portrayed in the series is done super well haha. Bless Hiromu Arakawa.

     Obscurity is her ally, for she is associated with darkness & donning sombre clothings,   her steps transport her throughout a plethora of alleys,   where her soul wants to cross,   until her attention catches something serving her best interest.      whilst she utters naught words regarding aforementioned interest,   it is quite blatant that her determination won’t falter the slighest,   even after stumbling ‘pon an unwanted meeting.  ❝Thank you for your concern but as you can see, I’m quite fine on my own. But maybe I should pay heed to your piece of advice after all. ❞      as a way to escape from the roots of suspicions.

     ROY gazed at her a moment longer before there came a sigh; a seeming sign of SURRENDERED caution. He buried a gloved hand into his pocket then offered the woman a brief smile ( a facade; he didn’t let his guard down just yet ). ❛ Why don’t I escort you home, miss ? You don’t know what could happen at this time of night, especially when there’s DANGER lurking about. Have you heard ? There’s been someone who’s been causing quite a DISTURBANCE in the streets as late. It seems they’re willing to do anything to get the job done, even if it means HARMING an innocent person. ❜

It may not be something to bring easy memories but I recall they were vital for any battlefield strategy, thus securing victory. By any chance, how did you learn this kind of sorcery? It seems like most witchcraft people practiced back then as wizards or witches.   ❞

     IT was IRONIC to think about how those prized flames of VICTORY came with the price of being forced to bear BURNS that would never heal but alas, it was a SACRIFICE necessary for the sake of TRIUMPH. Even now, he could feel his sins, SCORCHING his entire body but he had come to accept that it was something that he would live with for as long as he existed.

    ❛ Witchcraft, huh ? It’s quite amusing to think about how I could be perceived as a wizard of some sort but that’s where you’re mistaken; I’m an alchemist. To put it simply, alchemy is the scientific technique of understanding the structure of matter, decomposing it and then reconstructing it. It would be far too complicated to explain how I learned it but I did study under an alchemist who DEDICATED his entire life to researching flame alchemy. Though, it was only after his death that I was able to receive his research. ❜ The circumstances upon learning the art was an UNFORTUNATE one ( as he disrespected his master’s wishes in the end ) but there, he made a PROMISE it was for the better. If it weren’t for the Lieutenant and her father, he wouldn’t have been able to gain the power he had now.

    ❛ If you’re curious, I could explain how I’m able to produce these flames but I’m afraid I might BORE you. It is quite a HEFTY explanation after all. ❜ Their worlds were also significantly different from one another so it would be impossible to avoid a LENGTHY lesson about alchemy itself and frankly, the idea of it was quite a pain.

IT WAS FASCINATING TO hear his ringtone was attracting other people to do their own thing. Blue hues light up like a Christmas tree. His wide grin grew larger. 

He let out a wholehearted chuckle, rubbing the back of his head, “I never thought that my ringtone would inspire someone else’s own. Most people find it quite silly.” He cleared his throat, continuing, “I’d love to hear it. I’m sure it’s a wonderful ringtone.”

     ❛ I’M not particularly into rap but it is surprisingly quite FUN once you get started. I do have you to thank, All Might. You gave me such a wonderful idea. ❜ Now that he had it complete, of course it was only right to showcase his accomplishment to the person who INSPIRED him in the first place.

     He took a moment to find the file on his phone to play it aloud for his fellow coworker to hear. There was a PROUD smile spread wide upon his lips before the audio even began, “ Oh snap snap, spark spark, It’s time to light up the diggy diggy dark I'm the Flame Alchemist and I'm gonna be fire My beats are hot and my rhymes are purer — ” He was practically sparkling with PRIDE at this point. It was unbelievable how much he was ENJOYING his own work. It wasn’t long before it came to an end and he stopped it, promptly setting his phone down on his desk. 

     ❛ So, what did you think ? I spent quite a bit of time on it but I’m quite proud of how it turned out. Do you think I should add some background music to it ? ❜

roy  was,  for  lack   of a better phrase,  barking  up  the  wrong  tree.  aizawa’s hero suit was not designed for  fashion,  but comfort and utility. black was the most sensible color for a hero who primarily worked at night, and the only accessories he  really  needed were his utility belt and his capture weapon. past that, what more did he need  ?  mustang wasn’t using his head.   ❛  — pass.  ❜

     AIZAWA’S reaction was hardly unexpected so even as he was shot down, Roy only felt inclined to PERSIST further. ❛ Come on, don’t be like that, Eraser — I’ll even help you out ! It wouldn’t hurt to change up things once in awhile — freshen up on your everyday look at least ! Take it from a guy with a GREAT fashion sense. ❜

He respected Roy-sensei a lot, but the comment just flew over his head. Was he too young to understand what that meant? Maybe he should ask KIRISHIMA or KAMINARI what his teacher was talking about.  ❝I can’t really focus on finding a partner.❞ In light of the recent events, the realization his OVERSIGHTS were too much of a hindrance to his career dawned on him. SHOULD HE BE DISTRACTED, his ambition would be jeopardized. 

                    ❝I want to be a hero.❞ 

    ❛ WELL, don’t worry about it too much; I know how well devoted you are to your dream so keep at it. It’s really just something to keep in mind for future reference when you do become a hero. ❜ Relationships aside, he did approach Shouto with a genuine reason in mind and honestly, the subject would probably pique the boy’s interest better. 

    ❛ I’ve meaning to speak to you about this for awhile but I’ve noticed you still seem to be struggling with controlling your left side. You do have significantly better control over it compared to a few months ago but I was thinking that maybe you’d appreciate some help from someone whose quirk is similar to yours. How about for our next training class, I’ll personally help you out ? ❜

            EH – wasn’t that comment a little inappropriate? With how Roy-sensei was wording it, it only spelled out trouble. Granted, the recognition he gained wasn’t NECESSARILY uncouth since as a fledgling hero, it was detrimental for one’s name to be known. … BUT it seems his teacher had other meanings in mind. 

           ❝Ah – I’m not interested in looking for a partner at the moment.❞ && he didn’t really consider himself to be the attractive kind … not with how mismatched he seemed to be.  

    ❛ IT’S good experience to immerse yourself in a relationship when you have the opportunity later on but I suppose you are a bit too YOUNG for it right now. ❜ A boy his age not worrying about relationships -- he was quite DEDICATED to his dream, wasn’t he ? Well, he supposed a good chunk of the 1-A students hardly had the mind for that kind of thing ( excluding a few boys who so obviously were desperate to act upon their hormones ).

       ❛ ... SAY, Eraser, do you want to go for a drink ? ❜ Came Roy’s sudden invitation from his his own desk, clearly STRUGGLING with all these papers he had to grade. They didn’t have to be done until next week but his MOTIVATION to do any of it had been reduced to zero. If anything, he wanted an excuse to PROCRASTINATE on these papers for the day. Sometimes, he wondered why he took on this job to be a teacher.

     ALL Might’s ringtones were admittedly a bit OBNOXIOUS, since it was quite literally his own voice but with that in mind, Roy couldn’t help but wonder if it would be FUN to do one of his own. It wasn’t long before All Might returned to the faculty office, seemingly finished with his brief phone call. He stared at his coworker in contemplation before he turned back towards his desk ( yeah this paperwork wasn’t getting done anytime soon ). 

    ❛ Say, All Might. Do you think it would be fun to have a rap as a ringtone ? I’ve been writing some lyrics myself and I’d hate for them to go to waste. Would you care to listen ? ❜

This was still a dilemma he was PONDERING even now.
