Next came TREES!! Pine trees first placed in clusters. I then filled in the gaps with green and fall foliage colored lichen. Overall aiming for an early to mid fall New England look.
I still need to work on things like the RR crossing n stuff, but overall I’m liking where it’s going ^V^
N Scale Update!!
We got scenery on the station module just in time for its first weekend on display. There is still plenty to do, but let’s roll through what’s been done ^^
Since last post, I painted my rock faces with woodland scenic rock paints, and covered the overall landscapes around them flat brown. After that I made the road. I spread drywall compound in the area chosen to road, roughly smoothed it, and left it to dry overnight. The next day I sanded it smooth, and gave it a coat of gray paint. Then attacked it with a mix of grassy and earthy turf blends.
Building got a bit of color treatment with coat of Tamiya spray paint with window frames and doors hand painted with Testors and Tamiya paints. Grouting between bricks done by painting the wall with testors cream and white paint, and immediately wiping it off with a paper towel. It’s messy but I like how it came out. Then did final assembly.

N SCALE UPDATE!
Started working on the landscapes on my T Trak modules
General plan is for scenery to line up when they’re side by side for public display, and back to back when set up at home

The model train club had an open house. I got to run the clubs N scale layout for a couple hours. Gave some of my engines a good Run in.

Some pics from expos past on the HO modular layout.
This setup was built by various members of a modular group I’m a part of. For certain events out of the year we bring all our pieces of Railway together to make a continuous double track loop. My sections of railway spend most of the year in the spare room >o>

A year ago a friend of mine got me hooked on old Lionel trains. This is the most recent addition to my small collection. Made in 1946 to run on Lionel’s O27 curved track, it has one of the early versions of the automatic knuckle couplers. As I understand, the tender coupler carried an Electromagnet. When current was picked up on an activator rail from a pickup located under the rear truck it would activate the magnet and open the knuckle hands free.

Side project I’d started during the thicker part of the pandemic was the construction of T-Trak modules! With all events shut down and having few places to run trains, T-Trak seemed like the perfect project.
The nice thing about N scale T-Trak modules is you can pretty easily fit a decent little railroad into a small home on a folding table
Finding time to do scenery has been… less than ideal, so progress is slow going, but at least I get to run some trains

Blending the scenes between the two modules still has a way to go >o>
Have had a second module in the works for a while. Trying to do a bit more with scenery this time around.
