So for #mealprep I started ordering from @scratchculinary as it was getting difficult to meal prep with an 18 month old terrorizing @kaylabrown26 and me. How do you approach challenges in your fitness program? I'm a firm believer that your attitude and thoughts prior to a workout, set, or even rep greatly affects your performance. As the legendary Henry Ford once said, "Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you're right." If you go into your workout with a sluggish or negative attitude with no outside accountability to help you, chances are that your workout will be lackluster at best. It is not always easy to be focused and maintain a positive attitude but here are some things you can do: • 1. Listen to your favorite type of upbeat music. 2. Visualize yourself accomplishing a new personal best 3. Practice positive self-talk/encourage yourself. 4. Workout with a buddy 5. Remind yourself of your goals and why you are working out. • The list could be longer but truth is, you know yourself best and you know what is your best motivator. For this #transformationtuesday I wanted to share my transformation of something I could not do even a couple of weeks ago. I struggled for a long time to even get 1 rep with just the bar on Overhead Squat and could not do so. It took many weeks and even months of working on lat mobility, shoulder stability, squat mechanics and core strength but I finally did it! How important is it? This is an absolutely vital question you must answer yourself when you start your fitness journey. Spoiler alert, if it is not important to you, you won't reach your fitness goals, plain and simple. If you want to get to your fitness goals, you HAVE to make your diet and exercise habits a top priority. Can it be time consuming? Yes, but think of it as an investment in yourself that will pay dividends and make your more productive in other areas of your life. I often hear "I just work so much and I don't have time." I admire your work ethic and dedication to your job and that is a great trait to have as you go through life. However, your body/science doesn't give you a free pass to avoid health issues because you work too many hours. Not many people just have time floating around waiting to be used, you have to MAKE time and MAKE your health and fitness a priority.
