I'VE DONE ITTT!!! i've decided to start re-reading warrior cats for the first time since i was a kid, so to have a little extra fun with it, i've been drawing all of the thunderclan cats from into the wild!

I often don't try to police interpretations of the characters because it's so subjective, but a queer reading of Hollyleaf is so integral to her character arc and story that I find it impossible for her to be anything but LGBTQ+.

She can be ace. She can be lesbian. She can be bi. She can be agender, trans, nonbinary, gender fluid, etc.

But there is no way this cat is straight. She is one of the few examples we get of a female character explicitly stating they do not want to have kits, which through a queer lens is a rejection of the status quo, or heterosexuality. This is important to a lot of LGBTQ+ kids who search for representation that we get so very little of canonically.

on a lighter note i enjoy that squirrelpaw is canonically very clever, i like the idea that her issues as an apprentice stem from her not being challenged or listened to properly. she's often talked down to or disregarded entirely in midnight by brambleclaw or other warriors, we see here when she's away from that that she's quite smart and wasn't being given opportunities to work at her full potential.

The Warriors Website Team takes shots at Darkstripe in new article!

Many villains in Warriors are intimidating, whether through cunning, cruelty, or raw physical strength. Darkstripe is none of these. He has little in the way of cunning or charms to recommend him, his strength fails him in [embarrassing] defeats too often to be boasted of, and he has no strong convictions beyond wanting to serve [Tigerstar]. He is enjoyable as a character precisely because of how pathetic he is, and today, we're counting down his most pathetic moments in the first series.

"Darkstripe was finally exiled from his own Clan forever, and all because he failed a task as simple as killing a defenseless kit." "And yet, with faced with such a seemingly easy task, killing a half-starved, exhausted prisoner, he failed spectacularly. [...] All Darkstripe had to do was kill one starving, weakened prisoner, and he'd failed so badly that another cat had to step in and finish it for him."

rustys owners are like some of the worst cat owners ive ever seen. like rusty was around 6 months when he joined thunderclan, yeah? and he was pretty used to roaming outside. these people were letting their unneutered kitten roam around outside including access to the woods full of animals that could absolutely eat a cat. and then when their kitten vanishes and is never seen again, they buy another kitten…. and ALSO let that one roam around outside, presumably unspayed. was rusty even their first cat or had they fed several to the fox population already.

I love the short Firestar headcanons, but I raise you this:

The clans thinking he was short for like a year because he was actually a kit when he joined. He's average height.

Like no one asked his age at any point, he could've easily been like four or five moons old. I'm guessing they assumed he was six moons because he was on his own.

By the time they mention that part of the Warrior Code he's just hit six moons so he keeps it to himself.

That would explain how he's able to beat cats like Tigerstar multiple times. Poor guy was fighting for his life everyday as an apprentice.

The queens would probably recognize that he looks too young, but due to stereotypes they'd just assume that's how kittypets are. Of course he looks small and soft, he's a kittypet, they're just like that. They'd probably warm up to him quicker though.

Making this my own post since I worry it won't get reach as a reply (where I originally posted it):

Idea: going off of @ashcrowz post here: https://www.tumblr.com/ashcrowz/751958449972232192/moonpaws-if-shes-not-two-cats-and-one-wants-to - a lot of people are speculating the voice in Moonpaw's head will be her twin absorbed in the womb and will be evil, with some worries about playing into an evil alternate personality trope, my though is: what if the voice in her head is her absorbed twin but not evil at all, actually wants to be a medicine cat and never hurt anyone while the "main" Moonpaw is a proud warrior wannabe who is sometimes brash and cruel (think Leopardstar or Lionblaze type. The voice is often deeply dissatisfied with Moonpaw's morality and the mistakes she makes as a result. And the more mistakes Moonpaw makes the more the voice belittles her and tries to make her think she is worthless, because breaking down Moonpaw is the only way she would willingly cede control and let the voice have a chance of doing good and revolting against the Clans' violent ways that it hates. But Moonpaw of course, however much she might be flawed, is still a young cat who is steadily breaking down over being constantly reminded of her failings and told that it would be better if she was just replaced. Would be interesting to have the "perfect healer saint" character who, dealt a horrible hand in life in not even really able to be alive, can only do anything by being emotionally abusive and completely breaking her "sister's" self esteem goes into questions of what really makes a good person when a person can be amazingly good but be put in a situation where their only choice is doing something horrible or helplessness to watch the world's cruelties + personal misery, a lot more tragic and unique than just "the voice is EVIL and JEALOUS and that's all there is to it". Though if the Erins absolutely wrote this they would probably bungle it by making either Moonpaw or the twin portrayed as despised by the narrative and 100% wrong and to blame for everything...

Sandstorm should have died fighting Darktail.

Imagine this: Sandstorm gets separated from Alder & co. Alder & co find the Kin, and do not realize they are not SkyClan. Later on, perhaps when Alderpaw finds Mintfur, he also finds Sandstorm, which leads to the discovery of the Kin not being SkyClan.

During their escape, Sandstorm stays behind and fights Darktail herself, in an effort to buy them time, and heroically looses her life.
