Jean Grey: Look, the Professor trusts me to fly a giant jet. He wouldn't trust the rest of you to take care of his dentures.
Jubilee: [wearing the Professor's dentures] Yes, he would.

original dps is sexy because jean could set out across the galaxy destroying planet after planet full of life and scott would follow her and love her anyway
original dps is even sexier because ultimately, jean would never do that and she chooses love over destruction, even if that love means her own death
scott says âi will betray everything iâve ever believed in for the phoenixâ and jean says âbut i wonâtâ

halvorbragisonâ:
âThank you.â Halvor had been proud to die for the cause at the time, but leaving behind Raynor and his entire life was something else. âYou think so? Itâs like living on borrowed time. How do you fit in all the things you want to do before itâs up?â He asks not even as a serious question as he shrugs his shoulders. âWe do understand each other, different experiences, but also similar too. Death is a strange thing. I always worry too that thereâs a catch to being alive again â like spending bad will happen.â
âyou just do,â she spoke from place of unique experience. few people had as many chances as jean had to get it RIGHT. âyou get up every morning and you live each day. you donât have to fill every moment. you just have to do exactly what you want to do - itâs rare to get a chance to do that again.â and she couldnât blame him for thinking the way he did. the REAL shock would have been if halvor had woken up knowing exactly how to proceed from moment one. âsomething bad is always just around the corner. living those moments isnât...- a catch, or wrong. theyâd come without the resurrection, and theyâre part of the experience.âÂ

sammorzzâ:
âiâve been a lot of places ms. grey, iâve not seen anyone else that can do what you do.â well, sure, on much smaller scales. or with the involvement of that pit. or not being from earth at all. or a clone. we donât get involved with superpower shit, his dad had told him on a handful of occasions. and then he turned out to be one of them- of course, on a much smaller scale. âso mutants and meta-humans- is there much of a difference there?âÂ
âyouâre flattering me.â perhaps no more than she deserved, but jean wasnât one to have such thoughts independently. she was one of the most powerful mutants on the planet - and more than that, she was the one true host of the phoenix force, an entity that could scorch the very universe to the ground, if it so chose. heâd have been hard done by to find anyone alive with that amount of power running through their veins, and even more hard done by to find someone out there with quite as much humility as jean possessed. âi donât think there is,â perhaps, she was the minority. âtheyâre both genetic anomalies. the only real difference seems to be that metahumans can go their whole life without developing their power ; and even at that, whoâs to say that mutants donât exist in the exact same boat already? just because the research hasnât been done, doesnât mean that itâs not true.â

blindjcsticeâ:
âHuh.â Her death, or the fake that it had actually happened, wasnât a well known factâher family deciding it was the best way to keep her identity a secret after she had come back. Sheâd seen a therapist about, not that they were any she could find that specialized in people that came back from the dead. âI assumed the came back part. I donât think ghosts would appreciate therapy that much.â She joked. âIt seems like a useful therapy group. I donât think many superhero or superhero-adjacent people stay dead for long.â
âyouâd be surprised. emotions can be pretty tumultuous, as a specter,â she could TALK, âthey might benefit just as much as everyone else.â jeanâs time as the closest thing to a ghost someone could get was still fairly fresh, and she remembered how everything had been heightened - how she had felt RAGE instead of just anger, passion instead of love. it wasnât unlike another point in her life, though she shuddered to think. âthey donât, do they? you know, there was a time when i almost thought that i had rewrote the rules weâre playing by,â it was one of her only self obsessed thoughts, and it stemmed from fear. âthen i realized..- it was something else, entirely. i think we need to start addressing it, more. itâs not RARE anymore.âÂ

ofnarcissvsâ:
quin had come back to life. he had missed the first few months of the twinsâ lives. he had missed their first smiles and giggles. they were small when he first met them but they had been SMALLER when they were born. which he missed. because he died and wasnât around. when he had come back , he dove right into everything that he was doing before he died without a second thought. he never really stopped to think about what he went through or how hard it probably was on him. he never stopped to think about his own emotions and like before he died , he buried them. it was easier to bury them after coming back than deal with anything. â iâve made peace with it , â a COMPLETE & UTTER LIE. quinâs â at peace â simply meant that he ignored it. how do you deal with coming back to life but not recognizing your own body because youâre part plant ?Â
âhave you, really?â it wouldnât have been fair to argue, and jean never would have dreamt of doing so. she had been in quinâs position. more than ONCE, at that ; and some might have even argued that her level head about it all, now, was still a semblance of it. could anyone ever really make peace with the dying and the return? - she couldnât say. experience was a teacher, and my god could it be a brutal one, but who out there living with that truth could honestly say that there had never been a point where the thoughts in their head grew too loud, or their sense of belonging had suffered? who could say that they hadnât had a sleepless night or a hundred? that they had come back whole? jean couldnât. and she was perhaps the only one in the world with such an intimate sense of what she was talking about. âyouâd have to be stronger than anyone iâve ever met, to be past it. i donât doubt that you might be, but i do question whether you believe what youâre saying, or if youâre just being... what everyone expects you to be.âÂ
