i love the idea of Elrond aggressively saving Maglor from his 2 Ages-long pity-party. Elrond finds him vibing miserably on the beach and wants to bring him back to Imladris. Maglor declines for he is in exile for all his wrongdoings. He has yet to truly repent for the kinslayings, the kidnapping and the oathbreaking. Ere shall he sing upon these desolate shores until the end of days as his recompense for the misery he wrought.

Well, alright then. Elrond kidnaps him from the beach. Maybe he actually has Glorfindel tie Maglor to the back of a horse for the authenticity. A kinslayer can hardly be allowed to wander free where he may commit more dastardly deeds. He shall be kept incarcerated in Imladris for the foreeable future. Also here's the first warm meal Maglor's had in a century and a nice change of clothes. What do you mean prisoners shouldn't be given free reign of the house and a bed in the family wing? Elrond is merely treating Maglor as ruthlessly as he and Maedhros treated him as a child. Also here's your grandchildren, they're so excited to meet their grandfather and I demand thee to tell them stories and sing them songs or else dessert will be halved after dinner.
